I'm hoping they keep One More in the set. I would also like to see Precious Time with Jon on that harmonica. We've yet to see Jon and Arnel do one of the 'duet' songs like Feeling That Way/Anytime so hopefully, they'll throw that in for at least a few shows.

whos crying now

if he should break your heart

Marty and I will be at their very first American show - the Moondance Jam next Thursday!

Very excited about it, surely a barrage of photos are on the way. I'll try and Twitter as much of the set list as I can, and maybe someone can be put in charge of transferring my Tweets to an MR thread!

Anyone else going to be there?

Or better yet, just omit Open Arms completely. Would make me happy.

Me. :D :D :D :D

Absolutely love Moondance, best classic rock festival in the US. This is my 3rd year and it's always great. Finally I get to see Journey there. Should be at least 25,000 since all the VIP tickets are sold out which is a first.

I'd still like to hear People and Places, What I Needed and Where Did I Lose Your Love and I agree with Rick dump Open Arms but it just ain't going to happen.

BTW Weatherman. Sacramento was first for the US this year.. I was there. :D

I always thought Do You Recall was pretty rockin'--agree with just about everybody else's lists... Still love Daydream but that would be as farfetched as People/Places I suppose.

I agree. I think People and Places is a masterpiece. I hated it when I was young, along with Mother, Father, believe it or not. But as I've learned to appreciate the musicianship this band has, and how difficult People and Places is, and the meaning behind Mother, Father, I now think they're two of Journey's best efforts. I'm sure the casual fan wouldn't agree, but they don't study this band like we do, and most don't appreciate great musicianship anymore. I think I learned to appreciate it too late in life myself. I'm glad I do now though.

I agree with you very much Rick. Kind of a poignant post really. Anyway, Neal has not said he is going to pack it in and that he intends to keep going like BB King until he dies... I am lucky to have found them when I did, I should say... I'm going to keep going as long as Neal does, lol.

A lot of these setlists look like a greatest hits list. I thought people on this board would want some deeper cuts. Journey really is a casual fan's band it looks like (thoughto be fair, DSB is missing from a lot of these lists)

Well now that he's stopped drinking, that might give us 20 more years. Of him anyway. You know, I just learned yesterday by reading an old interview of Neal's, that "Voice" was nominated for a Grammy. I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.

For 'fans' that don't care very much, ya'll sure spend a lotta time here whining about it...

Definitely would like to see Majestic performed live. When I saw them years ago, it was just the recorded version and they ran out on stage to it. One More... I dunno. Kinda of an unknown. I'd rather hear that than Edge of the Blade though. Never a favorite, even in 83. Chain Reaction would be cool, Lay it Down would be cool. I'm just hoping they leave out Lights and LTS.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

:D

Love "Something to Hide" and "Happy to Give". I don't know this for a fact, but I'm very doubtful that "Something to Hide" will see the light of day in a live show, if for no other reason than the last (what) 4 bars? S**P really knew what he was doing when he laid down the vocals on that track, it's almost completely untouchable.

I want Journey to impress me.

Take requests. Have fans bring signs, and actually play off the cuff. Show me, or better yet the world, just how good you are. Play If He Should Break Your Heart, or Still They Ride, or even some covers. If some fan brings a sign and it says play We Won't Get Fooled Again, or even say, Fat Bottom Girls, play it!

It is so easy to play the same set every night.

They're hitting a lot of small venues ths year, great opportunty to o this kid of stuff. Too late now for Journey but Steely Dan doing three different albums three different nights at the same venues with internet requests for the fourth show is a very cool idea. I don't know if Journey could do four or five shows at the same place but have a CAPTURED night, ESCAPE/FRONTIERS night, ROR/TBF night and throw the Arrival/Revelation stuff into the Internet request show.
