Be Good to Yourself - I don't buy that song from anyone else other than Perry......it was his anthem

Open Arms - it's just over played IMO

LTS - another one that I would want to see Perry sing again....but enough already....it's had it's day in the sun

Mother Father......I love Deen and his version but......you know what I am going to say anyway. :) :) :)

and this is a question....

how many songs off Arrival do they do now??? I have not seen many you tubes of songs from that CD...there are some good songs there...or are they only sticking to the older stuff wtih Perry and the new stuff? and if so why?

Oh yeah, Almost forgot! That's his Kiss My A@# to his Band Mates and Fans!

I think you're signature is inaccurate. According to the Grammy website, John Mayer won the 2009 award for best male vocalist

Well, that just goes to show how lame the Grammy voters are. John Mayer couldn't carry Arnels jock. Although, he
does play at decent blues guitar. :)

Why would he want to? Better to be known as John Mayer, multiple Grammy winner then as the 14 year old, Asian, karaoke contest winner (according to Tiki Barber) who concert reviewer blogs everywhere are saying sounds just like Steve Perry. :P

When Tiki Barber starts his own Melodic Music site, then Ill listen to his opinion. In the mean time, Id rather listen to a steady diet of Zoo Band covers than anything that Mayer ever out.

Well when the frozen day in Hell occurs and Pineda gets nominated for a Grammy, we'll listen; til then John Mayer is a Grammy winner and Pineda is who again? Tell Pineda to write a song, any song, and then we'll compare talents.

Oh sorry I thought Neal Schon and Jon Cain wrote most of those Perry songs... my mistake...

They did.................but did THEY make them famous?

I don't think so.

And if it wasnt for JC and NS then Perry would have nothing to make famous.

We could go round all day.

JC and NS have the right to play songs they created with SP. Just like Perry did in 1994

I have no doubt that SP would have made any songs he sang back then famous, whether members of Journey wrote them or not. And nobody said that "journey" doesn't have the right to to continue to keep playing those songs........this thread was asking what songs we believe should be retired.
It doesn't matter what you say, because I'm ALWAYS right!!!! LOL!!

No they just said that the ones that SP sang should be retired... so yeah....

Really?? If it wasnt for Journey SP would be working on a chicken farm.. so I'm not so sure.

I guess that just goes to show what you really think about SP's talent. I, for one, believe that SP could have done ANYTHING he wanted to do at that point..........while Journey was on ropes. NS and the other members were less than thrilled with the prospect of having SP front them, even after having heard the demo of his voice. It appears, at that time, that NS was content that Journey should remain mediocre for eternity....it helps explain to me why he is so free and easy to find sound-a-like frontmen whenever the mood hits; its just not a priority for him.

Sigh...here we go again. Neal did not pick a sound-a-like frontman last time. Get your ears on! There is a difference between finding someone who CAN carry an orignal sound and one, who makes his way by doing only that. I'd never expect a thick skulled, pot bellied, hairy palmed knuckle dragger such as yourself to understand those nuances. You simply do not have the biological makeup to comprend what most of the fans know. It's not your fault. I'd blame it on genetics. I don't know what it is, but you were born with this null spot in the senses, which propels you to spend your days spewing venom and other inane, worthless drivel on an internet forum, where you have deluded yourself into believing that you are actually popular and have friends. Your compass has been spinning, my friend. From your first post here you revealed yourself as nothing more than a typical internet troll.

Now, please kindly fuck off and slither back to the AOL chatrooms, you worthless wanking penis!

All in all, you're just a shit stain on the internet.

I know I will get my butt busted for this one, but they need to stop singing the songs that SP made famous, bottom line, no one can do it like him. But they won't and you all know why, there wouldn't be ticket sales. Well there would be, just to the newbies maybe. I like LTS, the many ways he did that song too. Classic Perry all the way! I will never tire of those songs. But when someone else sings them, there is just no emotion or passion. He always put passion and heart into all the songs he sang. Especially Faithfully, I still cry when I hear him sing that song. It touches your soul. That's it, now I am ready for the blast...go for it!
Forever Yours Faithfully!

Arnel Pineda makes John Mayer's vocals look amateurish at best. Seriously he has no business being named vocalist of the year, when his range is nowhere near world class caliber. Sure he can sing, but... so can Justin Timberlake.

Oh, wow, I am so hurt and offended.

NOT.

Here we go again is right. Anyone with the I.Q. of a piece of furniture can tell that NS hired AP to be THE NEXT sound-a-like for Journey because he SOUNDED LIKE the Legend. "Keeping the Journey sound going.." et al. I would trade witticisms with you, but you've come uarmed. Why is it that when people do not agree with one another that they feel the need to reduce themselves to name-calling? Just get over it already. Now, would you kindly fuck off to an AP fansite. OH...and have a nice day. :D
