US rockers FOREIGNER are set to release a new 3-CD set of new music, remixed hits and live performances.

Entitled Can't Slow Down, the album will be available on September 29th via Rhino Entertainment.

The album features 13 new songs produced by Marti Frederiksen and Mark Ronson, the title track a nod to NASCAR and the band's appearance at this year's Samsung 500 in Texas.

The second disc remixes Foreigner classics such as 'Double Vision', 'Cold As Ice', 'Urgent', 'Hot Blooded' and 'I Wanna Know What Love Is'.

The third disc in the set is a DVD which culls performances of hits in 5.1 surround sound, plus footage from Foreigner's current European tour.

The collection will be sold exclusively at Walmart for $12. The band launches its US tour July 30th in Morristown, N.J.

Just another loss leader to get people in the door. Foreigner will be One and done with a boatload of cash to take with them. The problem is fans expect the next release to be just as cheap with all the same bonus material. Just can't happen. Notice Wal-Mart never uses the same artist twice. Eagles went 7X Platinum with their deal but haven't been asked back. The re-records are Wal-Marts way of making a point to major labels like Sony and Warner that own the original GH packages.

At least put as much effort into producing both discs. The production quality of Revelation's second disc was, for the most part very poor. Those Fisher Price keyboards they seemingly used annoyed me to no end. I know it was just the shotty production but have some pride, these are your Greatest Hits that you are re-recording here.

Unlike some, I was never against re-dos of the dirty dozen just on principle.
I actually thought the idea of JSS putting his own signature on the classics was a necessary evil if the band were to start over.
What we ultimately ended up with, however, is far worse than I ever imagined.
The chosocky diction of Arnel is just too much on that disc.

I dissagree Voyager, I think it's more of a thing Wal-Mart is making these bands do to push the product. I think it's like "We'll give you X amount of dollars, with the stipulation that you give us a greatest hits cd to bring in the casual fan". I could be wrong, but from what I recall with the Journey deal, it was the only way Wal-Mart would make the deal with them. To me it makes sense from a business standpoint. It also gives consumers more bang for the buck! I can't WAIT to get my hands on that release... who knows... maybe they've done something cool and different to the songs?

Neil Diamond and Sugarland are doing the CD/DVD exclusive package with Walmart also, both releases are in August for the same price of $12. Sugarland's is a new album while Diamonds looks like a stripped down greatest hits package. Both will have live concert DVDs.

Do like AP doing the classics as well? I am just wondering.....I don't seem to mind Hansen he seems to do a good job..I just watched him on a show this morning and he sounds great! I don't care for the Journey re-records and I am wondering why it bothers me with them and not with another band.

They did a nice stripped down version of "Say You Will." Hopefully, they'll do the same with the other songs and not just a replica like Journey did.
