OT: EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Postby MBPL » Sat Jul 18, 2009 11:38 am

My job stands until November, but we workers might do a "sit-in" at City Hall to make sure we keep our jobs. Turns out the director of the Dept. of Public Health wants to cut 6,000 positions held by women, minorities and people over 35 - OH SHIT, THAT'S ME! The drama continues.

So, what have I been up to through all this shiznit?! Well, I have lurked a bit on MR and good lord! You all are busy, talented and very blessed, fabulous! I am also busy planning my b-day trip out of the country and working on projects to see them to fruition. Screw my job, what was that line from the Molly Shannon character on Saturday Night Live?

"Ladies and gentlemen my name is Sally O'Malley and I am proud to say I am 50 years old...and I like to KICK! STRETCH! And KICK! IIIIIIII'm 50!!!"

I hope this email finds everyone being happy, fruitful, positive, working, working hard, kissing, loving, eating, dancing, bathing, fornicating, smooching a child, kissing an animal, climbing a tree! Have a great weekend. :D MBPL

My weekend is already half over, and I can confirm that I have been having a ball! Sadly, tomorrow is housework day, but I plan to crank up the music (I think a little Thin Lizzy is in order, possibly some delta blues for when I'm scrubbing the floors) and have some fun while I'm doing it, before heading out to my local pub with a bunch of friends to while away the late afternoon and early evening. :D
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I got a call from someone from the school I applied at......weird though..........I left my name, both phone numbers, and an e-mail address on my resume.......and a guy from the school contacted my friend who was the former teacher there asking for me to call him. She put a smiley face at the end so I hope this means a job. But I call the number and no one answers and he has not set up his voicemail..............Argggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

With my luck it is a dear applicant call..........you know.......dear applicant (insert any name here) we are so pleased with your intrest in our illustrious school system.........but you sucked in the interview, so we are letting you down nicely. Please don't call us, we will call you... Have a nice day, insert flowers, birds, and rainbows to lessen the blow.    Oh well, at least it is better than the not knowing.

Wish the man would answer his phone..........the suspense is horrible!

I am hanging with hubby today, and drawing. I draw a minumum of 3 hours a day now. :D

Job secured........job rejoicing today.......eating out with Danno.............I is happy................Hugs and good wishes girl!

We're going out for dinner tonight with two other couples that we haven't really hung out with in over a year. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm just amazed that as all of us have kids we haven't had anyone cancel with a sick child (knock on wood)! This morning I took my girl to karate then over to the dentist because her tooth was hurting. It turned out that the poor girl had broken the wire on her braces and it was poking her in the gum. I'm going to do some cleaning and lawn mowing this afternoon, and probably more cleaning on Sunday. I hate the fact that I have to spend so much of my weekend cleaning because I'm at work all week. I guess I should feel lucky that I found a job so quickly after being laid off in the spring!
