I enjoyed them all ... this is one of my very favorite Journey songs ... I hope, hope, hope they play it Tues night ... I love standing up and singing along at the top of my lungs (esp. when almost nobody else knows the words!).

Me, too. I hope they play this and Chain Reaction and One More down here when they come.

They probably will. Night Ranger will set the mood with their hard rock set. I don't think Journey wants to be seen as the soft rock act on that show, especially with Neal yacking about how the band wants to go for a harder sound.

I have too many boots. SP, in his prime, delivers the gold standard version to any song (imo) -- with the exception of OTY. EOTB is really not a good song for Arnel to sing (imo).

I really love this song and in my opinion, the best live version is the 2009 with Arnel on vox.

There are some really shitty versions here.
The Perry one is waaaay too fast. Need to find a Jap show one where the tempo is smack on.
The Augeri version is the wrong section of the song anyway.
Never liked any of Soto's version's apart from IBAWY.
The Pineda version is just absolutely dreadful.

Tho at times it feels he's doing something of a Perry homage, I like the swagger and the "whoa-oh-whoa" Sam Cooke-isms.

+1. Perry and Soto were the only ones with the swagger and r/b soul to keep this fan interested in Journey for any length of time. :(

Out of those live options above, I'd have to call it a tie........Perry/Soto. There is better live versions of Perry on that one for sure......and for that matter better Soto versions too.

Apples to oranges. Anybody hurt on these nights? Anyone under any other influence, or got a hair up their a$$ about something? Besides, Perry was different because of Steve Smith too.

All things being equal though, Perry blows everyone away...hands down.
