From Neal on the Journey Forums

"Denver tonight
Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - 12:00 am - neal_schon
What a cool venue... we were blessed with great weather tonight
Was our first show with Heart this year and what a great one it was.
I'd say we both lifted the roof of the place , but there wasn't one....
Great , Great crowd. Thank you for letting us do our thing...
We have a very early flight back to the west coast so I'm turning in.
Just wanted to mention that Arnel is a total Pro, still not feeling 100% but he did amazing again !!! Deen also sang tonight and also did an amazing job.

All the best to ya,
Neal"

Sounds like they're going to be spending a lot more time in the air than doing those long bus rides for this goofy schedule this year. That's a pretty big additional expense. :? :?

there is a review forum. you click on tour and it has reviews for each concert beginning in Europe and I think there is a big icon on the front page also added as an extra place to click.

All I can say is that is the coolest, most beautiful, and acoustically perfect venues I have ever seen a concert! Just awesome and both bands gave 150% last night! All I can do when Ann Wilson belts her notes is WOW! I'll post some pics later when I get back to that hot inferno we call Florida :x

I've always wanted to see a concert there. I'm envious. And it is hell down here with the heat and humidity, but nights have been a little better the last few days. Arrive home at night.

Wow, what a venue, what a show. We had a great time. ILAA rocks; seats were dead center, 2nd row (1st row at RR is handicapped access) & we got a backstage tour this time; getting to stand on the stage and look out at that amazing venue was such a treat.

Ann Wilson's voice in a place with practically perfect sound ... I can't even describe it. Ann had tears in her eyes singing Alone; Deen was in the wings giving her the "I'm not worthy" bow; Deb was crying; I had goosebumps everywhere ... just amazing.

Arnel rocked the place; I certainly couldn't tell he was not feeling 100%; and Deen singing Mother Father was another one that had us reaching for the tissues.

Complete set list for the acronym-challenged below. No Edge of the Blade or One More, unfortunately. Pics coming next.

Intro
Separate Ways
Never Walk Away
Stone in Love
Ask the Lonely
Change for the Better
Keep on Running (Deen)
Lights
Keyboard Segue
Open Arms
Mother Father (Deen)
Harmonica Segue
Wheel in the Sky
Wildest Dream
Be Good to Yourself
Faithfully
Don't Stop Believin'
Anyway You Want It

Nice pics, Linda. Ya'll look fantastic. And great shots of both bands. Ann looks like she has lost weight since touring last year. What a venue. So beautiful. 8) I just wish they would have performed What I Needed.

Or WDILYL. I thought they would play that at least, since it was released as a single.
Looking at the review Bulletin Board, it has someone saying that many people didn't seem to know the new songs. Maybe that's why they're not expanding their use on tour.

Damn, Separate Ways is smoking. That's a killer opener -- Majestic into Separate Ways. I like Separate Ways best as an opener, although I've seen it mid-set, close the main set, open the encore and close the show as well. I like it in the opening slot the best for the reasons in that video.

According to Fabbest
Deen sang "Keep On Running" and "Mother Father" flawlessly and gave the drumset a major beating.

I agree, I loooooovve it as the opening song, Magestic iand then straight nto SW. It sets the tone. All these videos are fantastic of that show, great sound and good visual of the stage, and what a stage it is. I love the colors of all the lights in circles. And Faithfully, no matter what, I always tear up to that song right in the beginning.

I did, during ATL, the only vid I could take before camera battery started to take a nose dive. I'll figure out the whole youtube thing and hopefully get it up sometime tomorrow.

The show was great, couldn't tell at all that Arnel was under the weather, not in the least. I didn't know that until reading that from Neal. He sang wonderful from beginning to end, and his stage presence is so great, he just looks like he's having the time of his life while up there. And Mother, Father from Deen...just...WOW. Incredible. And Ann and Nancy, fabulous. Have vid of Alone too, will try to get that one up too.

WHAT a venue! Holy crap. Definitely not for anyone not too in shape, thank goodness for working out. 193 steps from top to bottom. Had a BLAST climbing them, lol. Beautiful place. We had an awesome time all around, definitely a venue I want to return to. Before the show all of us girls had a wonderful day up in the mountains, just amazingly beautiful. We never got any real "mountain sickness" thank goodness, was a worry though when you live only 60 miles from the Atlantic like we do. I did have shortness of breath a little after climbing those stairs, something I NEVER get and most of my workouts every week are stair climbing for a minimum of 30 mins, usually more, and I never get that way, so it was strange, but had to be that high elevation, lower oxygen air I guess. The highest we were yesterday I believe was 11,000 feet, after taking a ski lift up 2,000 feet to ride a 2,000 foot slide...WHAT a blast and funny ski lift stories from that too, LOL. LOTS of funny times, laughter the whole trip as always, sad for it to end, but there's always next time 8) We'll have to add our "stories" as pics come along, lol.

Oh and for those of you who know....."wind wienie" had a great time too!

It should be, Heart's on the bill tonight.

I would go just to see them.....love her voice!!

I wish Heart was opening down here for Journey instead of Night Ranger.

Don't sell Night Ranger short, they'll blow you away. I had a great time seeing them a couple of years ago.

They're putting the headliners to shame on a lot of their shows. Journey needs to bring their A-Game and leave a few ballads off the setlist when they have NR as their opener.

I don't know. I will have to look into this more b/c I might go to Atlanta and visit friends and see Journey up there b/c Heart will be the opening act. I will check out more of Night Ranger's music. I'm more into alternative rock. I'm only familiar with a few well-known hits.
