So I zoomed it in before recording to keep the drunk chicks in front of us (who didn't belong there and got moved finally) from being in the whole thing like they are in the Heart one I recorded :x . So, sorry for the vid part, was hard to hold it up and follow them around with it like that to keep the drunk girls out of the vid. The sound is pretty good though I think:

(oh and at about 1:35 is where Arnel ties his shoe like Debbie mentioned, lol)

Great video Melissa.

Someone tell Arnel that there's a secret to keeping your shoes tied.

A guy at work showed me this. When you make the first loop with lace 1, and go to wrap lace 2 around it, wrap it around twice, then push the second loop through the double wrap, and tie it. It will never come undone.

Thanks Rick, my first youtube, yay!

I'll have to tell my son and husband that trick, I just double knot mine at work and for working out, but that never seems to work for them

You did great. I left you your first comment too.

The double knot works, but it doesn't want to untie very well. This thing I do unties just like a normal knot.

Youthful and exhuberant, Arnel Pineda brings an attitude and presence that single-handedly makes the entire experience feel valid and unique.

Pineda allows Journey to transcend this with his amazingly beautiful singing voice and transcendent stage presence.

As an avid fan of Arnel, this review just gave me goosebumps. Man, I'm so proud of you Arnel.....so proud. :D

This was something I was not prepared for, to say the least. Remaining relevant in pop music with their release of "Revelation" last year, Journey elevates over the odds against them and produce a startlingly great live show.

The rebirth of Journey is most definitely inside the music, and they did the right thing at Red Rocks...they just played great music.

What a compliment to the band. I agree, what really matters is playing good music.......no matter how you look at it.

Journey rocks!!!!!! :D

I was impressed. I was having fun, singing along, learning new songs all the while surrounded by tie dye, grey hair, and awkward 70's dance moves. It sould not have worked out well. And yet it most certainly was one of the greatest concerts I have ever been to. Now, the next time I'm at a bar and "Don't Stop Believin'" comes on over the loud speaker, I can proudly sing the chorus with no level of disdain or irony. I don't just like the song because it's an 80's power ballad anymore. I like it because it is a well-written song performed by talented musicians with an obvious passion for music. The rebirth of Journey is most definitely inside the music, and they did the right thing at Red Rocks...they just played great music.

Wow, nice find, Val! I don't remember the last time I saw such an enthusiastic review of a Journey show. Cool. :D

A lot of people disagree, but I thought "The Wrestler" was a great movie. I have never been a Mickey Rourke fan, but that movie changed my mind.

That blanket was a great gift idea! Wish they had them last time I had the 5 star! It sure did come in handy for Denny's too. I loved when we are shivering under the blanket with the arctic wind blowing on us and the waitress asks "are you cold?"

Below are some of the MANY reviews of the Red Rocks show on the Ticketmaster site. SEE ALL JOURNEY REVIEWS HERE

Journey is better than ever! by Bordersbound
Arnel Pineda is fantastic as the new front man for Journey! He knew exactly how to energize the crowd and it seemed like he never stopped moving all night. Wish I had his energy. His performance with Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon, and Dean C. was magic! I need to go get the new CD NOW!

Favorite moment: Ann Wilson gave me chills when she sang "Alone". Arnel Pineda said at one point, "Thanks for making my dreams come true". Awesome!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both Heart and Journey were excellent by Bluediamond
I had not been to a concert at Red Rocks for about 4 or 5 years. The venue is amazing. I love the room you have in front of you, with plenty of room for people to get too and from their seats with out bumping into you. The night was perfect and Heart started right at 7:30 and the concert lasted until 10:45. Both bands played their best songs, and the light shows were superb. Journey really kicked ass. They rolled out matts that covered the entire stage with their logo and the performance was flawless. The new lead singer did an excellent job of belting out the songs and he hit all of the high notes. He had a lot of energy and really had the crowd going. I would definately pay to see them again.

Favorite moment: It was all so good I couldn't pick a favorite moment
Setlist: I don' know the names of a lot of their songs but Don't Stop Believin,Lights, and Any Way You Want It were three of the songs they played.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journey was awesome! by Cynful1
Both Heart and Journey played their signiture songs for the entire concert and totally rocked Red Rocks! I have not attended a concert at Red Rocks for about 20 years, and I very happy that I chose Heart and Journey for my return!

Favorite moment: Arnel Pineda singing "Faithfully" - my favorite Journey song. He really put the correct feeling into all the Journey songs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wilson's brought it! Peneta has got it all! by stuckin85
Heart is hard to beat. They still have it after all of these years. Wilson's pipes are still incredible. Awesome covers.
Journey's new front man in unbelievable. He is vocally a powerhouse.
Great show. Had a lot of fun.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journey and Heart by moviethriller
Wow! A must see. Red Rocks was a great venue for this event. By the way......Heart was much, much better than expected. Journey - phenomenal. Would highly recommend this event!!! Purchased the Revelation Album by Journey - great!!!

Favorite moment: All of it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

journey & Heart were great, what memories of youth by griffith7
I was amazed at the talent of Heart, great ladies with amazing voices. Journey, I was worried about the lead singer, boy was i wrong, he was better then great, sounded just like Steve Perry, possibey better. You & old were rocking out, wow''
Favorite moment: Evereyone was waving their hands and it was just getting dark, when they sang When the Lights go Down in the City, the entire crowd was siging

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journey was unbelievable! by classof89
This was my son's first rock concert. Of course REd Rocks was amazing and my son became a Journey fan almost instantaneously. The Band was as good as ever and the new lead vocal was very dynamic. He had his own personality but still managed to channel Steve Perry just the right amount.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amazing show by Insanityspeaks
Heart opened up the show at 730 and went right into Barracuda. At that moment I knew I was in for an amazing show. They played for a little over an hour and closed with Magic Man. The sisters still sound just as good now as they did back in their prime.
After Heart, Journey took the stage. Steve Perry's voice is so amazing....its like it hasn't changed at all in the last 20 years.....wait I was just informed that it wasn't Steve Perry, but some guy named Arnel Pineda . They opened with Separate Ways (worlds apart) which happens to be my all time favorite song by them and closed with Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin. Arnel had a lot of energy and was running around the stage the entire time. If you have a chance to see this tour, you will get your money's worth.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journey was Powerful by HVACMagoo
Heart was outstanding! Journey...where do I start? I have been a monster Journey fan since 1980. I have always felt that Steve Perry was the heart of Journey. But I tell you and everyone everywhere, Arnel Pineda is the best thing to happen to Journey since loosing Steve Perry. This guy is AWSOME! Vocals, stage presentation, energy! Last night Heart and Journey Rocked Red Rocks amphitheater. Hands down best concert that I have been to in many many years!
