Then he'd've been toes up after the ROR tour b/c OS was one of the centerpieces and they did Strung Out...Neal doesn't roll that way if he LIKES a tune a good tune is a good tune...

Seriously, the circumstances needing to be in place to make this happen require a leap of faith that I just have no desire to take.
You'd be surprised at what a little chloroform and duct tape can do...

Of COURSE the classic DD but THEN the lesser (some more hits NOW than then) hits Just The Same Way, Feeling That Way/Anytime (all prior 3 Cain duet), Message Of Love, Can't Tame The Lion, then album cuts Lay It Down, Keep On Running, Still They Ride (POSSIBLE Castronovo duet), After The Fall, Troubled Child, Frontiers, Rubicon, Oh Sherrie, Positive Touch, Once You Love Somebody, It Could Have Been You, You Better Wait.

Great to see that one on somebody's list. One of my faves off ROR.........Perry's vocal tone and delivery are just stunning on that one. All around great sounding song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIvLX615xUU
Pretty decent list JoePa, I'd probably only change 3 or 4 of them.

IMO, one of THE best songs in the catalogue.
StocktontoMalone wrote:I'm not saying it is a better catalog, but I would have to put the RUSH catalog as the toughest catalog....vocal-wise. Ged was hitting some serious chalkboard in the 70s....
Just saying....

cool idea.have an acoustic section of the show where they all sit down on stools.maybe play patiently, mother father, faithfully, stay awhile, etc.

I can just see it:
Ross: We got the magic back....again
Neal: I wanted a singer with a ten....err, never mind. I wanted a singer who could restore us to the legacy sound...again
Friga: Just knowing Steve Perry makes me a better guy...again

Yes, that is a great idea. And use a female group on the stage to sing backup harmonies ... perfect. I've seen older male singers use that approach in their current live perfomances to help them sing their old hits.

The Moody Blues do it, I saw them a few months back. They still sound great.

I'm with Gunny on this one. All the J members shine on that one (especially Perry), I don't think I'd like it as much, done accoustically. Other ones, sure.......like Patiently, etc. But MF, to me, is just to grandious and needs all parts vocals/guitars/drums/bass.

I think the older stuff is more suited for acoustic versions. Once Friga came in, the piano and keyboard became a major player in a lot of the songs.
I do have to admit though that Daryl Hall has done some cool acoustic stuff on songs I didn't think it would work for.
