Why not find out what everyone's agenda is?

I loved Perry -he is my favourite singer of all time - i think he makes the band tick. They will never be better than decent - without him.

He inspired me - but so did Schon and so did Steve Smith

Cain - i see him get ripped on here - but all of us would kill to have 10% of his songwriting talent so why not kill the really boring gay jokes for a while.

Would it kill some people to remember why they got so hooked on this bunch of fantastic musicians?

Am i alone in thinking that they were easily the best 80s mor/aor band by a country mile?

JOURNEY - i will always be grateful for your music - your worst day was most other band's best day - and all this BULLSHIT about Mr Perry's Husky/Deep/Croaky voice? i could listen to it all day every day. No one - no one, comes close Steve - thank you thank you thank you.

Mr Schon - christ man - you can play guitar like a demon - please phone Mr Perry and ask him if he would like to weave one more tapestry of magic with you and Jon.
For Journey, one of the few bands that breathed magic into the lives of millions - for now and always.

Sorry folks - i know most of you will think is crap - but i still remember what it felt like to be 18 and think it was gonna be that way forever - and what happened to Marcel has made me feel more appreciative of the moment.

Crazy Debbie said it really well on Tuesday night after we spent 2 hours 10 feet in front of Neal at the Denver show. Something along the lines of, "No other band does it like Journey, do they?"

I'll go in 'all in' and say that I want to be 18 years old again. And that Journey is only one reason why that is the

No matter who the singer is, I will continue to listen to Journey because of Neal. He got me back into playing my guitar, which collected dust for a couple of years when I didn't have the time to continue lessons that I began when I was 10ish.

It's obviously the best w/ Perry, never got to see them live with him, too young.

I liked Steve A despite all the problems his legacy leaves with the band.

I am up and down with Arnel - I really enjoyed him, diction/accent problems notwithstanding, until this downtuning business came into play. Some of the songs still sound ok, some of them sound like complete shit. I may or may not go see them in Youngstown in a month or so, I'm wavering.

I don't really care what any of the guys are like personally, I'm listening to their music, not inviting them into my home for drinks.

I'm with you, Linda. Amazing band, and an amazing catalogue of music from the first CD on that I enjoy playing all the time; but in my book, they're still going strong and are just an amazing group of musicians to have the privilege and treat to still see live rocking it out in concert.

What happened to the Detroit tour date? I thought that was set for September 26th which was supposed to be their last show & therefore an awesome blowout. Now I see the Detroit date's been canned & they've added new destinations that they didn't have before.

What happened?

That's not crap Gordon. I'm off to see journey in California on Wednesday. It will be the 4th time have seen Journey. It will be great, but it will be like seeing Queen without Freddy, Deep Purple without Blackmore, The Doors without Morrison, The Beatles without Lennon. Something will be missing.

I love the Brits … even the music critics. In general, they seem to appreciate the brilliance of ROR more than American Journey fans. Great post, Gordon

Shelved be damned! It's been taken over by my new siamese kitten who believes it to be a portable lap ("the lap that stays, even when you stand up.") Still, keeps me warm (although the little #&!%*@ is going to have to learn that my coffee cup is not a lucky dip or a chew toy.)
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
