Rik Emmett very cool that you listed him, he's amazing.
Joe Satriani
The first two are in order, but it's hard to say who takes the last 3 spots.

If Night Ranger had opened for Journey here, I would have gone in a heartbeat. Their live show will give Neal and the boys a run for their money.

I saw them a couple of years ago, and Gillis floored me. Motherfucker is amazing.

I saw them at the Budokan in the mid 80's. From what I can tell, they haven't lost a thing.

I saw them in the 80's also, but was too naive to realize what kind of talent they had. I absolutely love getting to know these bands for real now. Holy moly, did I miss out on a lot because of naivety.

I was thinking that in another thread, when Scandal got 30 minute stage time before Greg Kihn came on to open for Journey. I thought they were alright but I didnt appreciate Patty Smyth until well after the fact. To think, she actually turned down the job to replace Roth in Van Halen.

I remember that. Who would have thought? There's a big VH-DLR fanclub that just hates Sammy. I wonder what they would have said about Patty. As fantastic as she is, they would have crucified her just as bad or worse.

Check out Monte Montgomery if you haven't. He was featured on Daryl's house. He's a guitar playing sonofabitch.

He's the guy that covered Sara'Smile, right? What a humble dude, looks like the kind of guy to go drinking with and let him play his guitar around the fire.
