Can't vote one way or the other. It's just not a very good song.

Even though Pearl Jam is one of the bands arguably responsible for crippling the mainstream careers of late-wave 80s melodic rock such as Winger...
....Kip's gotta have at least Ten. That's a damn fine album. Or maybe a best-of.

Winger was screwed royally. Their videos were all over MTV, their second album was just hitting platinum.....
and everything suddenly went to plaid flannel.

+1 Sadly I have to agree with you. The song isn't very good. Plus I much prefer the angst. I don't listen to Pearl Jam to get happy.

Have to agree with this also. Pearl jam is not supposed to be Upbeat and Happy, Thats what I listen to Journey for.

Did I mention that I HATE Pearl Jam and Nirvana?
HATE. Pure trash, made for a boring, lazy, unimaginative, unmotivated generation. Garbage.

I can understand the hate for Nirvana, as I too, dislike them immensely.
But Pearl Jam are hella good, same with Soungarden and Alice in Chains.
Just because bands choose to do something other than high-register, melodic vocals, standard-tune riffs, and throwing solos every which way in songs.... doesn't mean they're bad.
I dare you to walk up to Eddie Vedder, and say he can't write. Tell Chris Cornell he can't sing. Tell Jerry Cantrell he can't play.
I call bullshit ten times over.

You can call Bullshit but the mopey music sounds like dogshit to a lot of us, didn't last (fortunately), and hurt our genre greatly.

Sorry, but GRUNGE did not kill "our genre", our "genre" was imploding with stupid lyrics and a tired image and nothing particularly new to offer. It is likely more accurate to say "our genre" led to the creation of of Grunge.

I'd walk straight up to Eddie Vedder and tell him he can't sing one fuckin' note on key. Probably one of the worst talented "singers" on the planet. Sounds like someone is skinning a ferret alive. The dude has ZERO talent in the singing department. The epitomy of TONE DEAF . The only redeeming value he has is that he's a Cubs fan.Pearl Jam music-wise is not too bad, but too bad they have a singer with numb vocal chords.
