Journey music at my wedding

Postby kenjourney » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:45 am

I got married on 7/18/09 in NJ on a rooftop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. For the bride's entrance song I had a pianist play Open Arms and for the recessional song as we kissed for the first time as husband and wife the pianist played Faithfully. It was perfect

When I jumped the broom so many moons ago, we played an older Tagalog song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NROT4JszmmQ

This probably isn't the best translation but I think it's close.

I just realized
that to fall in love is not a joke
It's amazing what i feel is true happiness
While with you my whole life is you
I couldn't take it if you're gone

My promise to you
I'll fight for it
Through richer and poorer
our love
for us not to be apart
forever
because someone like you
will come once in my life

Before I thought
a true love
can only be found in a novel
and it seems so hard
to believe
you , only you
the dream i've been waiting for
now that i have you
and us as one
I won't let
anyone come between us

Jonathan Cain lyrics?

Every Tagalog song seems to have Jonathan Cain lyrics. I think this song came out in the 70's though.

Me and my girl's relationship started at the first notes of FAITHFULLY on the DL Concert in '06. Still going strong. I'm sure Faithfully will be in the mix as our first dance if we ever get that far.

I know one thing, Me and the Mrs. will first be introduced to the SUPERMAN theme at the reception. Booooyah

How fun! You gotta do fun stuff like that. Stuffy uptight traditional weddings/receptions bore me. My recessional music was "Linus and Lucy". And my intro for the reception was the theme from I Love Lucy, because it's a fun piece of music and there's that really neat crescendo at the beginning... perfect "intro" music... everyone loved it.

If I do it again, I'm using the Star Trek TNG theme, because again, really fun sweeping crescendo - perfect for a big entrance.

But I'll probably elope to Vegas and get married on the pirate boat at Treasure Island, so it won't matter.

Congrats, 78!!

I never thought it would happen, but Frontiers was hired to play a wedding in upstate NY next month. These people must be huge Journey fans, because we don't throw in a few extra covers just for variety....and we don't go to upstate NY for cheap either....

Congratulations!!! Perfect song choice. "Patiently's" another good wedding song. I know this next one's not by Journey's, but I've always liked the song "Unchained Melody" myself. My girlfriend & I broke up in March, I'm 31 & not even close to being in a new relationship so I've kinda given up on the whole love & marriage thing, but I hope someday to be able to walk my daughter down the aisle. I'm really looking forward to that. My daughter is my world. If I get to walk her down the aisle, I'll be so proud I'll probably burst!!!

Best wishes to you, buddy. Time to start having babies now.
