I did not say I agreed with TNC calling names at any time....I said that you should not criticise him for it and then continue on to do the same thing yourself. and I also didn't say you couldn't or shouldn't defend yourself and not say anything in return, either.
This is the point I also made on the water boarding issue.....
If you do the same behavior as you are criticising your enemy of then you are no better and undermine the moral authority that you bring to the table as a justification of your stance.

if you and others are going to criticise TNC and others for their speech then you shouldn't use the same manner of speech you criticise them for. Even in retaliation it doesn't show you to be in the right for doing the same in return..it just takes you to the same level . Just like the example I used before in this thread of Holyfield vs. Tyson....if you bite someone back ...youre just as much of a dirty fighter as they are and no one wins.

Oh...and on your assumption that I have the time to read every page of every thread to " comment on everyones posts"...no, I do not read every thread...or every page in every thread...I have not read every single page in this thread. In fact I have barely spent very much time at all on this board in awhile...its been very sporadic for awhile and sometimes a week or more has went by when I haven't read this board and/ or posted at all. So once again youre assuming too much. Another thing...when I do read a thread on here I will click on the last page and quickly skim over it to see if there is anything of interest to comment on....so I skim past a lot!

He said something that has me disturbed a little. He was talking about organ donation, and suggested that perhaps we should enact a law requiring us to "opt out" of organ donation, as opposed to choosing the option of becoming a donor. He went on to further state that our bodies should be public property after we die anyway, so why not take what they can get?

I have NO problem with organ donation, I am a designated donor, and when my brother died, several of his organs were donated. However, to suggest that we have no say over what happens to our bodies is beyond appalling!

Curious to hear some reaction on this. Anyone got an opinion?

At no time in the last few pages was I defending Deano....and wouldn't want to say a word in his defense for his defense alone. I don't have a very high opinion of him, personally...but this wasn't to get personal like y'all have tried to make it. I was making the point that if y'all want to gripe about someone's behavior then don't behave that way your selves. Either take the high road and don'tspeak in the same way or give back what you get in the same manner. If you choose to do the same though, you have no grounds to complain. That simple.

I know what context means...and I know what taking something out of context means. You are trying to claim that calling someone a "prick" is alright and different then if Deano were to use it simply because you put a smile and wink behind your words and he didn't. I say thats bull and given that he doesn't use emotes the vast majority of the time then you claiming his is in the context of an attack is only you assuming he meant it in that way...so your assumption is taking something out of context in ascribing your own meaning to it. If put back into context he could still claim the same thing as you do...that his intent of use was in jest and/ or just in his manner of speaking.
And I repeat....calling someone a "prick" is just that...jest or not..it is what it is..a derogatory and some would define a vulgarity....so if you are going to use that kind of language then you have no basis of complaint when someone else uses the same type of language.

TNC & " others" aren't the ones complaining about what is said to them.
The ones that are complaining have done the same exact thing...cuss, name call and insult.

I'm going to try to explain to you this LAST time... I jumped on TNC NOT for "cussing me out". I stated that ALL HE DOES is jump on people, degrade them, and is an asshole. He does this to pretty much everyone here, ALL the time. According to you though...I guess now I'M being an asshole to EVERYBODY here just like him. Your whole joining in on this arguement was after I posted to TNC. I guess I should have quoted your post right before this where you say the word "prick", which was only said by me. Who the hell else would you be referring to than if it wasn't to me? And I HAVE stood up for you MANY times. Ask Beshad, Dan, Rhiannon, Stevew2, etc... I'm damn sure not wading through 5000 fucking posts to try to prove it. I appreciate the times you have stood up for me, but I've never asked you to.

One more thing... it's funny to be getting "Posting etiquette" from someone who's been in more arguements than pretty much any poster on this site! I love him to death, but that's like Stevew2 giving me spelling lessons! DAMN!!!

It's not about " posting etiquette " at all...it's about some who criticise awhat others say and then go on to use the same language that they are criticising.. If you are going to criticise then don't do it yourself because if you do then you are a hypocrite. If you want to talk in the same manner...use the same kind of words then don't complain about others using them.

Now is that put in simple enough terms for you to be able to comprehend it now?
