No, but I'll learn it now and post something shortly.

Great... good luck.

Per your request Sir. Hope you like it! This one was actually a little tougher than I thought, because of the lack of having the vocal track as a guide. There are a couple little errors in it, but I got through it okay. Thanks for the challenge! :D

INCREDIBLE
..

Thanks MG! I appreciate it. I've listened to this a few times, and the string glitch in the middle of it is REALLY getting on my nerves! :( When I record songs, I break them down into sections. It makes it a LOT easier than trying to record the whole song, start to finish.

This clip I did in 2 sections, and right where the two meet...there is a sudden jump in the string volume. It's really quick, but it's still bugging me. I'll probably re-record this tomorrow (just for the hell of it), and it'll sound better.

DAMNIT!!! I just realized that I forgot to adjust the tempo back too!  It's playing quite a bit slower than the original. It's DEFINITELY getting fixed.

It is indeed a little slow but it sounds great... you get great piano tones out of your gear. What board(s) are you using? My old keyboardist couldn't get convincing piano tones out of his Motif for the life of him... had to be some ineptitude on his part, but still...

And this song would be tricky without the vocal... the vocals and piano really play off each other. I'd be shocked if they didn't track the studio version live together... at least as a guide for the eventual final tracks.

Thanks Matt, I mostly play my Motif XS8. I play the factory Brite Grand patch, tweak the eq just a tad to give it a little more high end eq, and add just a little reverb. It is a pretty great sound for a keyboard. I had an older Motif ES6 that I had bought a piano sound library for, but I sold it. The sounds don't work on the XS. I really think they were even a little better than what I have now, sound-wise. I'm sure I'll be buying that collection again!

I'm sure when they recorded him, they recorded live with the keys and his rough vocals to a click. Then they would get the keyboards and orchestra (if they used a live orchestra for those strings... I doubt it), then re-record all the vocals.

I'm glad you liked it.

It's funny how the simpler sounding stuff can be harder to play isn't it? Right after I requested it and saying it wouldn't be that difficult in the process, I went back and listened and realized there was plenty of nuance there, especially with the interplay between vocals/piano. Technically probably not hard, but dynamically and tastefully, pretty tough... a guitar example I can think of off the top of my head would be the Who's Crying Now solo... overbend just once on one of those sequences and the whole bar sounds like shit!
