i have been a regular at the bamboozle since 2005 when it was first a BIG festival and held in Asbury Park. I have seen a lot of good and bad things from the festival, and the Journey cover band was probably one of the best things I have ever seen

Okay, I want to end the speculation or at least try to...
It indeed was Steve Perry singing HIS songs, but with the Journey tribute band Evolution playing backup. I know this is 100% true because when me and my buddies left the show after Third Eye Blind( not fans of Fall Out Boy) we stopped at a Burger KIng off the turnpike in NJ before we made the trek back to Boston.
While we were in line we noticed a group of guys, long hair, in their 50s-60s. I am a big Journey fan and know what the guys in the band look like and one of them had a striking resemblance to Steve Perry. We asked, he said no and walked out of the BK and went to his big white stretch limo in the parking lot.
The rest of the band stayed, grabbed there food and talked with us. I asked "Why Journey at Bamboozle?" they said " We were invited." I asked Neal Schon( he introdcued himself to us as "Neil Schon" if that was Steve and he said yes, he just doesn't want to cause a scene. I figured it was the truth. We then asked him if this mean they were back together and he said "Just a one time thing." He then said go out the limo and meet Steve after we get out food.
We went outside, the whole band was there(all original Journey members, even though they all didnt play that night) and we spoke to Steve. We said thanks for a great show and it was great to meet him. He said "Thanks a lot and shook our hands.
Don't believe me if you want, but I wouldn't have taken this time to write this out if it weren't false. I didn't take any pictures, or ask If I could since they were just being regular guys and having a late night snack before hitting the road.
So it was Steve Perry and Neil Schon playing with Evolution. I hope this clears up any confusion.
All in all it was a great show. Third Eye Blind rocked, and New Found Glory played one of the best short sets I have seen. I can't wait to see what they have for us next year!i need a fuckin drink

Could he be considered for the role of young Perry?
