Dude, Arnel shouldn't be your target. hat guy is great. Humble, appreciative and so forth. it's the band he's with and his obnoxious fans who are the problem.

They sincerely believe AP should have been the Super Bowl Halftime Show last year and that he is better than Steve Perry.

His fans are the dickheads, not him.

PS- The Springsteen fans got wind of the Pineda uproar (Super Bowl BS)and basically laughed it off. They all basically said that Journey was a cool band and that Pineda had pipes, but stopped there. Journey will never play the Super Bowl.

Dean, I know this poor sap has been hung out to dry by the band. I hate it for him because I do think hes a nice guy. But I hate this version of Journey. The Super Bowl was my final nail...eyes rolling into his head like hes just inhaled some Dutch Boy paint.

Well, ok, but I am trying to say, AP can definitely sing, and the band will always be good...see, I hate em, but wil NEVER diminish their talent. they are in fact pretty fuckin good. AP is a great story.

It's his hardcore fans that make me laugh. He is no Steve Perry and sure as fuck ain't no Bruce Springsteen.

D, in his wildest dreams he wouldnt hold a candle to Perry. Those fans who say hes better or compares equally makes me wanna yakk. Theres a bunch on here who thinks hes the 2nd coming of Steve Perry and to them I say watch the 1981 DVD again. Thats a showman, thats a talent. Their boy Arnel doesnt come close. Hes a bar band singer.

What's wrong with being a bar band singer? Many famous singers started from small bars, right? You made it sound like being a bar band singer is bad.

As longs as Perry fans are criticizing Arnel and Arnel fans criticizing Perry, this comparison crap will never end. Good or bad, you cannot expect Arnel fans to keep quiet while their idol is being called a monkey or whatever, and vice-versa. We are not saying Arnel is the second coming, but let's be honest, the band is getting a second life, maybe nowhere near Perry's era but still worth noting.

There will always be fans who are overzealous no matter what.

The only one I've heard publically call him a monkey was Filipino singer Freddie Aguilar. I don't know if he's a Perry fan or not though.

That was just recently, I meant when he was first hired.

By the way, yes that stupid Freddie called Arnel a monkey, but he lost all respect and whatever street cred he might still have. Good for him, he's a stupid fuck.

Although Arnel will not approve of me saying this, but calling Freddie a stupid fuck without being censored felt really good.

Good God, Deano. Nobody on here is annointing him the king except chubby. And nobody on here thinks he walks on water. Don't get overly dramatic. And Chubby participates on this forum and doesn't whine and doesn't go over the top. So she has just as much right to feel it as some of these beyond unfair repulsive statements I've seen on here re Arnel.

At least, whatever dislike you have for the band and their character, you have always been fair in acknowledging Arnel's talent and even the rest of the guys.

Also re a comment you made on another thread, I agree, Springsteen is a poet. Some of his songwriting and songs are the best I've ever heard. That's why he's used in movies for songs. His songs can carry the emotion of the movie. Just saw the Wrestler the other day and it reminded me of that.

Dude, I didn't hear the word Casino one time when you were here  . Next time you're in town, we'll hit Morongo or Pechanga. San Manuel is for casual gamblers, like me. It's probably a hundred miles from Malibu so between an hour to two drive for all three of them. They've got shuttles every day of the week out of L.A. hitting all three places also, about 25 bucks for a ride.

If you're a poker guy and dont want to trvel that far,Commerce is just on te other side of owntown, about 115 minutes drive.

Careful, the plokkers might send you on vacation if they see that we've been corrupting you.
(Now, I just need you to PM me some topless pics of yourself, and the transformation will be complete)

With regards to the pic, even if I can, it might scare you for the rest of your life and I don't want to be responsible for that.

Usually females that say that are beauties, and they don't need to impress or brag because they just are.

GB will disagree.  My screen name sez it all.

Jana - I'm certainly not one to argue with you since we are ususally on the same side except where it comes to U2. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.

They were sitll monekying around with venues even after the SuperBowl was annouced. I'm sure if AP had insisted the whole mini-tour with Lani could have been rescheduled. I just question AP's priorities on this one. Also, I heard the radio interview with Jon as well and he was led into making that statement. Folks also heard Journey onstage saturday going through the setlist without AP.

Anyway, 'nuff said and water under the bridge.

Rock on Journey.

Don't worry. I wasn't arguing. I've always said it was a mistake and Friday should have been cancelled.

Give U2 a chance. They've got an amazing catalogue of songs.

Who? Call me terrible, but for all my years on this planet I can't name one U2 song off the top of my head. I have mixed the name up with UB40. :P I must have lead a sheltered life.

Now just become a huge Tears for Fears/Roland Orzabal fan and we're musical soulmates.

After 25 years, that's a pretty shitty list if you ask me. U2 can't carry Bruce's jock or Journey's for that matter.

U2 's best work was the October album, IMO. Once they became famous, the music suffered as they got more and more involved with humantarian issues. I'm not faulting them at all, just calling it as I see it.

U2 will always be one of my very favorite bands although I do have to agree with Deano on The Fly. I didn't care for U2’s Fly-Zoo-punk rock period. Other than that, I love their music. “Bad” is by far one of my favorite songs (other than Bono’s brief Kermit The Frog impersonation). Lyrically, U2’s music is the type that makes you think.....none of that “fluff” to fill the gaps. It’s spiritual without being religious. I don’t have a problem with Bono’s social activism. That, in part, is what prompted me to volunteer my own time in the clean-up efforts of Katrina.
