I just called the San Manuel amphitheater (got the number from the Journey site), I asked the guy if he can give me the number of tickets sold for tonight. He told me that he can only check how many tickets were still available and unfortunately he said....... there's none.

I wish she was. Deano wants nothing more than a "fail bus, filled with Journey to drive off the motherfucking grand canyon" He would get a huge hard on, while reading this news over his biscuits and gravy. He hates them all with a passion.

I love Night Ranger as much as I love Journey so this is awesome for me. I have no idea why they would make a change this late in the game.

I looked online and there are less than 500 seats available and over 20,000 lawn seat sold. Why would they add a band with sales like that? Plus, this late in the game how many more sales will it bring? I understand that this venue is cavernous, but this is just odd.

I am just a lucky dude I guess.

NightRanger's first LA appearance in a long time (at least 8 years). For some reason the band will not play the So Cal market. Been waiting, waiting, waiting. And of course I couldn't go.

That's what the guy told me. This is the reason why I posted where I got the phone number so other people can check and see if they will tell them the same thing.

So far Anna from AP's site mentioned that from her vantage point, all the seated areas were occupied. We will know very soon how many bought the lawn ticket. This will be interesting.

Rockandy from AP'site posted a review and also posted some pics.

Here's an excerpt: (btw, there's more to the review)

Journey had a stellar performance last night.

Arnel's total command of the crowd was impressive. He really knows how to work it!. Arnel jumped down off the stage during the Be Good To Yourself encore and the crowd went crazy. I saw Neal shake his head and laugh as Arnel made his way through with security at his heels.

And that Jeff Probst is a HUGE Journey fan and a nice guy!

Here's also a clip of DSB

I don't think it's the whole 65,000 venue. That would be unlikely to me. Like Gunbot said, it's probably a certain amount set aside and sold for the grass area. But 25,000 to 30,000 would still be fantastic sellout for Journey. And 20,000 would be a great crowd..

Yes Jana, not 65k, there was a discussion about 30-35K and that's what I was referring to.

LOL, ok you called and the dude said there were none left. Ok  . Did you also sit behind Steve Perry at a recent game and overhear him say how good Arnel is and that the band still rages on? You dolts will stop at nothing. There was NO way they sold 35,000 last night. Jana, you are about the dumbest bitch on this board, save for that southern fuck babyblue. She can't even spell their or there right.

You all have a nice little band here. It's not a major mover of tickets or cd's, and they sure as fuck aren't playing to 35K a night. Enjoy your small sheds and theatres. You aren't selling out hockey arenas or baseball stadiums anytime soon or in ever. And my point is, that's ok. Just don't sit here and fawn over what you think is the greatest, biggest band to ever grace the Earth. It just isn't so.

As for you steveo77 you lying assrotting dickwart- you never received a fucking text of Perry talking about how much he digs the Journey record. He hasn't spun that album and never will. Your breath smells like a horse's asshole- full of shit.

For the record, I could care less if they make it or fail- they are irrelevant in music. People don't stop what they're doing and run to the radio to turn up the newest Journey song...nor do they check Ticketmaster daily for stadium shows going on sale soon.

You assholes want to drag me into this, that's your call, but I will most definitely respond, every fucking time.

It's not built for stage viewing from there. you'll have to rely on the video screens. Wear shoes that are good for walking. getting in the place requires a long walk that is uphill so be prepared. Anyone who has been to Samanuel Casino knws it's in the middle of nowhere.

See the dots. That is where General admission tickets end for regular shows. The full 65k capacity is for festivals. You can sit beyond there but they're not selling tickets beyond the capacity of those points unless it's a big time show.

Like I said, you won't see tickets sold for the grass. They will be lucky to sell out the blue seats......though I doubt it.

Blue seats are already basically sold out. (15,000+) Someone reported 20,000 lawn seats sold. Can't verify until after the show what the sales actually were.

Horseshit. Prove it. NO fucking Way is the grass sold out. No fucking way.

How do we find out? If there's 35,000 people in this concert hell has frozen over and the seas have parted. It would be pretty spectacular. Can you imagine the energy there?

I could not tell you how many people were there other than it was a shitload. It was impressive! The crowd was overpowering. The seats were completely sold out and the grass was very full. The full capacity of the venue is 65k, but that is for festivals with multiple stages. These stages are set up in the parks behind the main stage photo'd here. I have no idea what the capacity for the main venue is. It only has 10k seats. There were at least 20k lawn seats sold prior yesterday. That would make the attendance over 30k. There were more than this with the walk up which appeared to considerable.

This was really the only LA area show this year so far and the casino shows near San Diego were much more expensive. Journey was cheap here. Seats could be had for under $30 and maxed out at $80. Lawn was under $20 and with Live Nation's no fee special you could actually get in for $18.75 parking included.

As to this venue, I would imagine being in a canyon the wind could cause havoc on the sound. It was good last night though. Parking is not actually that far until a lot of people have arrived. The major complaint is that the venue is at the top of a hill that's steep. It did take an hour to get out of the parking lot.

Gunny. It is actually not on tribal land. The facility is owned by San Bernardino County and operated by Live Nation. San Manuel just has the naming rights. It used to be Hyundai and then Blockbuster before that.

Perry deserves every fucking cent he gets from this band. Without him, they aren't touring this year. Understand that asshole? Perry's coat tails carried these slugs for so long, and it's proven even now...look at their setlist- every song the crowd comes to hear is because of Perry's voice or writing. When Neal writes a top ten song, let me know, ok?

Stop the Goddamned comparisons to greatness this and greatness that. That's all I am saying, and put away the victim card. I know you are fervently typing out a pm to Andrew...stop it. he doesn't need your whining.

No, you said dumbest bitch. Don't sugarcoat it. And you ARE an asshole. First of all, I have never once pm'd Andrew to complain, and I mean never. I don't believe in bothering him, never have, never will. I can take care of myself or leave.

Secondly, I have never used the word greatness in comparing Arnel to Perry ever, ever, ever. I've neve once compared Arnel as greater than Perry, ever. They are a great band, though, great musicians. I am enjoying this incarnation and nothing more than that and they are having a great run. So don't you even try to put me in your little box to describe me as a fan. Sorry to take up space on this board posting about Journey in a positive light, so much less room for the Perry/Farmer threads and Perry Fan Club demise threads.

I don't consider the band the greatest and biggest band in the world. I just happen to love them, like I do other bands. So enjoy being an asshole, Dean, but don't think you can bully and beat up on me. I'll leave this board b/f I let a man talk to me like that.

Need a Kleenex? I don't enjoy calling you dumb Jana, but Jesus Christ, what the fuck will it take for you to come correct?

Stop the Goddamned comparisons to greatness this and greatness that. That's all I am saying, and put away the victim card. I know you are fervently typing out a pm to Andrew...stop it. he doesn't need your whining.

Just balls up and come correct with your takes...

And let the record reflect YOU called me an asshole and I just said your were stupid.

Sorry to take up space on this board posting about Journey in a positive light, so much less room for the Perry/Farmer threads and Perry Fan Club demise threads.

blah blah blah.

Go spin that shitty U2 record again.

I actually admire your loyalty to him, I just wish he would give back at least.

Actually, Perry does give back. He does do charity and other things but keeps it under the radar. I remember him going to visit wounded soldiers a few years back with no fanfare whatsoever. He doesn't appear to be the type to say "Look at me, I'm doing something special". Every person who has said they met him the last few years have said he is the most gracius person ever and I'm not talking about people on this site either. If he wanted attention, it would be esy for him with all the Journey hoopla recently but he doesn't go around like other disgruntled artists looking for attention. He gets approached regularly about DSB and the music being used in the media and seems very relaxed in those interviews. It seems he is in a very comfortable place, not someone who needs his own website to tell hm he's still great. I can admire that about him. How simple it would be for him to have a virtual marketplace to pawn off merchandise and milk his fans. That would be easy money but him but he hasn't done it.
I've also never read of him saying an unkind word in any of his public interviews about the band, despite Neal's over the top comments that come out of his mouth every once in awhile. He leaves Journey alone, for the most part. It would be so easy to grab onto Neal and Jon's coat tails but he doesn't seem to have a need to do that, whether it be fromgreat financial planning earlier on his part or just finally letting the past go completely. He should be proud of the legacy he helped create and deserves what ever compensation he gets from it. Telling us the fans, how much he adores us is not needed. As long as I can continue to own the classic Journey catalog or hear classic Journey songs on the radio, I'm happy .

And I just wish you fucked up Pinheads would give Perry the respect he deserves, and earned by the way, rather than heap it all on a guy who has accomplished ZERO.

Well at least we are proud fans of Arnel, saying it out loud. We do not hide behind the closet for fear of being laughed at.

The respect for Perry is there all along, but with poster like you, it tends to peel away, which is not Perry' fault.

Respect begets respect.

BTW, platinum album. Helloooo.

Whooaa. You are proud to say it aloud, yet in the same breath you accuse Perry fans of hiding in the closet for what reason exactly? Being laughed at? You have got to kidding me? Pineda has already had more embarrassing shows in his brief time in the limelight than Perry had in his entire career. Could you please enlighten me?

You mean to say that you support the idiotic statements made by pinheads on Youtube saying his super Bowl performance was grand and so great that he should have been the Game's halftime show? or the endless comments that Pineda took Journey to the Super Bowl when Perry couldn't get them close? I would love to hear your response.

Well I just read it here, that there were so many closet Journey fans. I was not talking about a particular performance, I was referring to the fan base as a whole. Laughed at? I don't know, I guess because they were almost like a pop band? It was discussed here a few times, in this board, so you must be aware of it.

If you see my all posts, I never said anything that maligns or ridicule Perry, I always try to be respectful. I never said that Arnel is the greatest either but you keep telling me all these crap that I never did and that shows your ignorance about me and my posts.
