Good to know at least the couple donations I made a few years ago made it to MAW on behalf of Steve. Treasured memory for sure no matter what thanks to you and C, and I'm sooooo glad one of the sweetest people I met that day Chrissy, was able to meet SP before she died of cancer so young.

I too was once a member of PV, seems most were at some stage.
I supplied Kathy with some rarities over the time i was there.
Never dreamed any of this crap was going on.
PV had been surpassed a long time ago anyway by farrr better sites, most of which are still in existance.

Well, here’s my interjection on my PV experience, for what it’s worth …

Matthew and I have a lot in common … we both “discovered” SP and SP/Journey sites/forums around the same time in ’05. Over the years, I have felt a kinship with Matt, as we shared just about the same opinions and views, visited/posted on the same forums. Like all the reasons he stated, I too felt that PV was the best privately-ran SP fansite there was on the ‘net … devoted solely in honor of the man and his voice. And, like him, I searched and checked them all out at that time. I do believe I was the one that introduced him to PV when we found ourselves posting on the Yahoo forums (the Steve Perry fans mailing list, which was really an Augeri/Journey lovefest disguised as a Perry fan board … lol).

Without trying to take sides, it’s a crying shame what has happened with Kathy. Yes...you don’t really “know” a person unless you “know” him/her personally – and I don’t. Over the years, I have heard of people having fallouts with K. I have also heard of many good things she has done for people. I know about the getting into people’s PM’s … but, as Matt said, there’s always email if you want total confidentiality. Like Andrew with this site, the owner rules; if you don’t like it, you don’t have to join.

It’s true, Kathy was like the queen bee, presiding over her court that was PV … and we were her disciples. I never had any problems with her (she was always nice to me); but then, I don’t invest much of my personal time joining cliques or forming friendships on fan boards. I know she had a lot of people that helped her run the site and forums, but it amazes me when I think about how much SP info she had on there. It was really a joy to go there; and, on the boards, everyone got along. What I did find weird was periodical sniping (usually started by Kathy) that so and so from another site have plagiarized a photo or clip from PV and being posted on the other site as their own – or someone is hot-linking this week’s video posted by Kathy for her site members enjoyment and posting it all over the ‘net; thereby, running up her precious bandwidth’s cost. I’ve always wondered if she was maybe just a little bit paranoid over these things. But then, I don’t know all she had to put up with, either.

Then, as someone alluded to, things really started going south after the gals came back from Perryfest and the WOF meeting with SP. One by one, all the major contributors (like Deb, Cindi, Janna (not this board’s Jana), Sarah,Tarsea) stopped posting. To everyone’s credit, nobody badmouthed anyone. It was like … people just moved on. A new group of regular posters took over the boards …and I just didn’t like the new vibe anymore. Perhaps, I just outgrew the place, (there is only so much SP fawning one can take, lol). I also missed Matthew’s periodic musings, as he seemed to have moved on, also. Anyway, the shit really hit the fan with the Lora fallout. A few days later, Kathy announced she’s closing the boards (“too much stress”) – but keeping the Perryville site open. I stopped going there and starting posting here. I heard she eventually opened the boards up again, but I had gotten used to posting with the people here and didn’t want to go back. There really is more variety here.

I don’t know about previous sign-ons, but Kathy was posting as Wildfire here. She quit after the unpleasantness in a thread here a few months back. Putting myself in her shoes, I wouldn’t be surprised if she felt a lot of people are against her.

Haha wow this thread brought back so many horrible memories. I had much drama with them (she told everyone there I was a sick person and to stay away from me on other sites) but what most screwed me over regarding PV was that I was in talks to buy rare pictures off a private seller until the lady pulled out because she was "warned" about me. It was probably due to the PM-reading. At the time, I was extremely annoyed, but now I should probably be glad because I feel like all of that memorabilia I bought was a complete waste of money and now I have to resell it. lol

But yeah that site was where I first saw the pic that made me fall in love with SP, so I'll give it that.

The PM "warnings" seem to be a common tactic on Perry/Journey forums in general. As a rule, when someone "warns" me about someone else, I am immediately suspicious of the "warnER".

lol! the woman was ingenious that it lasted this long and she was able to mismanage so much money without any one going to the police and reporting what was going on! it's like she was managing a ponzi scheme and no one was the wiser cause she kept kicking them out and bringing new members in! i mean she had the audacity to kick off sp's friend and still keep the board going! what in the world were people thinking and how was she able to do that and still keep people on the board without them wondering...what just happened here? she's good too bad she didn't know what else to do with her wit, charm and personality; she could have gone places just like madoff and the ponzi in NY.

LOL I remember that, I don't think she liked it when I mentioned you were one of the people it would have been cool to meet that weekend. I knew her MO right away when she was all bent out of shape about Jill and Gary. SP was great with them. Two of the sweetest, give you the shirt off their back, type people on the planet. Good friends to this day, have come down and gone to a couple JSS shows with them since. Jill was just too damn cute........when SP was giving out hugs, she was one of the last people he got to and she was all a flutter and almost crying when he got to her, he even commented to her, "awww you're crying" and then hugged her too. Gary caught a bit of it on video and you could hear him snicker behind the camera at Jill's trying to hold it together. It was Priceless!

I'm afraid if all the allegations regarding the MAWF money collected from members, but not paid to the organization are true that
Kathy is going exactly where Madoff went. It isn't a Ponzi scheme that she had going, robbing Peter to Pay Paul, it is outright Racketeering,
which is a common scheme of criminal conduct, in two or more transactions, involving theft. The fact that it is on the internet involving many victims
in different states makes it Federal. Federal crimes have LONG prison sentences. Something you do in State Court might get 1 year, in Federal Court, 10 years.... No kidding.

That was cute - loved seeing that all captured on tape for us (although, wasn't there "drama" with Kathy involving that, too?)...btw, how are Jill and Gary? I remember she had that cool cake made for a get-together once at the WOF.

Which of course are now "HERS" and may not be posted anywhere, ever, lest you incur the wrath.

I think this is why SP isn't out there and musically active. She owns him and all his shit.

Mannnnnn I have the greatest thing to post but unfortunately, I can't do it.

Oooohhh yeah. They probably have her stamp all over them now.

If you don't want any undesirables, just PM us the address instead of putting it out here publicly. It's cyberspace, elitism is allowed out here.
