Funniest thing since the Bret Michaels oopsie.

Um... you're wearing a mic, Tiger! Tattoo that on your arm, ok?

I don't think it was Eldrick who actually farted. Word is that Euro clown David Faherty had a fart machine going and punked Woods.

Anybody else see the title of the thread and saw "Tiger Woods forgets he's milked"?

"You can milk anything with nipples, really."

Deano, you're the man around here, but Tiger is a turd. Anytime anything goes wrong, he throws his clubs and cusses. He's a classless jerk.

I hope he doesn't catch Jack. Jack played with inferior equiptment and still out drove Tiger. He actually used WOODS. Plus Jack had class.

Oh boy...here we go. While Tiger hasn't caught Jack yet...I really think that the only thing that might stop Tiger from surpassing Jack is a Ben Hogan style car crash...and even that might not be enough, as evidenced by his return from reconstructive knee surgery last year.

If Jack had 1/2 of the internet/tv scrutiny that Tiger currently has, we'd surely see some inappropriate stuff out of Jack as well. It's an unfair comparison. Tiger's done more for the sport of Golf than Jack, Arnie, Watson and Norman combined...

Actually, Tiger isn't wearing a mic. There has been some talk about allowing some caddies to wear mics. I'm not sure if they agreed to it yet...and whether Stevie was wearing one there, it hardly matters. They have very good wireless, unidirectional mics on the course that allow them to zero in on conversations between caddies and golfers...

and come to think of it. I'm glad there's more than one golfer on tour (besides John Daly) who doesn't have a problem busting ass before knocking a 7 iron stiff from 190 yards. If I could knock a 7 iron stiff from 160 and had to squeeze out a duck-stomper before the shot...I'd do it too!

Why would you say that? First of all, it's a myth. I grew up in sports locker rooms and on the average, it's all the same.

And second, Tiger isn't even all black, so why would he be hung like a horse?

Why, because he's a partial minority? That's nothing he DID, just how he is. He has no control over it.

No class.

Well, either way, it's funny as hell. There was a mic SOMEwhere.

I just didn't want to put "Tiger Woods Ripped Serious Ass" in my topic title, so I went the polite route.

What's the odds he is teeing it up with his driver and not playing it safe with the 4 iron?

You have to put Federer up there for consideration at most dominant athlete ever Dean, but besides that, I agree... Tiger is indeed a stud. So the guy has a few temper tantrums in his normally demure country club sport, fuck it. He's got a passion for winning (and no, not all pro athletes do) and shows it in a different way. Doesn't make him the worst person in the world. He gives all kinds of money to charity and has elevated golf's profile worldwide to untold extremes. Not too shabby, splash.

Tiger has brought more money into professional golf than any other previous player, male, female, black, white, red, green or purple.

Arnie, Jack, Norman...while they were all great, Tiger has made the PGA one of the most solvent professional sports associations....and it was done without Steroids, massive TV infusions or scandal. One person did this. Not 103 players doing steroids, which is what MLB felt it needed to survive post-94 strike.

You might not like him because he's partially black, which is your perogative....but don't discredit his contributions, because he's partially black. Quite stupid, given all he's done for the PGA. He would still be great if he were blue or purple.

Oh yeah, Federer is a beast. I still love Pete Sampras, and Johnny Mac. Those guys played against what I feel better competition. Agassis, Borgs, Connors, and those dudes. hell, Roger completely dominates Roddick nowadays. His ultimate test may be playing the Williams sisters, ie, Predator and Predator 2 the Sequel. Those bitches can flat out ball. I wouldn't sass them no way.

I've seen numbers where TV viewership is down ~50% when Woods is not playing. Bottom line. He is good for the game.

This kinda depth/quality debate goes on every generation in tennis... I am a huge Federer, Agassi, and McEnroe devotee. On the depth question, I tend to share Sampras's view that he articulated recently: Today, there are less true "champions" competing with Federer, but the overall depth and quality of players is far greater than any preceding generation. There were more consistent performers, especially at the grand slam level back in the 70s-90s days, then there are today where there's basically Federer, Nadal, and a select 2 or 3 players who happen to be in great form for that given slam. But, overall, the #50 player today is far better than the #50 guy was back in the mid 90s or 80s during Pete and Mac's heydays. That kinda depth pretty much goes down the line today, at least in men's tennis, which makes Federer's consistent ability to avoid a huge upset at a slam very remarkable (even Sampras bowed out early in slams quite frequently, especially in the latter half of his storied career).

With all that said, Federer has set so many ridiculous milestones - to me, the most underrated accomplishment of his outside tennis die-hards' knowledge is the 21 straight grand slam semi-final or better appearances. As a lifelong player who competed collegiately/nationally (so I have some idea of what I speak of), I can tell you that this is a ridiculous feat! Someone could come along and break his grand slam record someday (if it stays at 15... any more and I doubt even this), but I don't ever see someone breaking all of the milestones he's set - most weeks at #1, most grand slams, the career slam, most years winning 2+ grand slams, highest consecutive streak of initial grand slams won, most years winning 3 grand slams, most consecutive finals won... the list goes on.

He's a human record book. Even Tiger hasn't reached his level of consistent greatness. Although he's finally shown signs of being human the last couple years (and the media has uttered his demise quite loud frequently), he's still only lost to Nadal in grand slams save the one time an in-form Djokovic took him out. He's near unbeatable in slams for the rest of the field. Simply ridiculous.
