Don't think this has been posted yet, but the new Foreigner single is up and running from their new album.

It's somewhere towards the bottom, enjoy! :D

This sounds like classic Foreigner to me. Kelly does a pretty good Lou, and Mick's writing is quickly identifiable. Not bad at all.

Sounds to me like Hansen is trying too hard to emulate Gramm's vocal style. He does a very good job of it, actually. Not crazy about the song though...kinda sappy. I'd prefer a good rocker instead.

Agree about the sappiness, but it's quality sappiness. However, I disagree on the conciousness of Kelly *trying* to emulate Lou. I've been a long-time fan of Kelly's and he's always sung like that. His vocal style just naturally fits Foreigner. Many people don't seem to have a problem with singers emulating other singers here. :?

I can't wait to hear a rocker either, just to hear him belt it out.

I actually think Kelly sounds the same as he did in Hurricane here, to tell you the truth. His voice is rougher but it's pretty much his normal voice.

It sounds very clean and sparkly... very polished. Kelly is an awesome singer and I don't think it sounds like a Gramm rip off at all... I really have to get more familiar with this line-up of Foreigner. I really like them but I've never followed them the way I do Survivor, Styx, REO, Toto, Journey etc...

Hurricane wasn't a bad group at all. Like I said earlier, they actually had a Top 40 Hit, so Kelly isn't your typical replacement singer. Also, waiting nearly five years to record new stuff (besides Too Late) probably helped Kelly as he has slowly gone back to his normal voice when performing in concert. Initially he was trying to capture the Gramm sound but now he seems alright just using his regular voice which is pretty damn close to Lou's anyway.

I've liked everything I've heard and seen of KH-era Foreigner, including Too Late. Just haven't taken it upon myself to get into them as much as I should be. I'm definitely gonna buy this album.

Forever probably isn't the best song to show off his singing since it was co-written and recorded by Mark Free before he left the band, and was tailor-made for his vocals. Heart Run Free is a new song after Free left. Great vocals on both songs though.

As far as the vocal debate on the song, I don't think Kelly Hansen is trying to sound like Lou Gramm....it's just the song is written for Lou's voice. After 30 years of writing songs for Lou Gramm's voice, it's probably hard to change that style. I doubt it's intentional, but I hear more Lou than Kelly in the melody. Give another album or two, and you'll probably get more Kelly in the sound as Mick Jones learns to write for his voice.

Foreigner has gotten some god pub these last few years despite no new material. The cover of BILLBOARD magazine, A&E Private Sessions and Sound Stage. All that without really producing anything new.

You are speaking absolute crap.
Have you ever seen or heard the current lineup apart from this song?
A rip off? Mick Jones has EVERY right to call the band HE created, Foreigner.
This current incarnation are THE best the band have sounded since the early 80's.
Kelly Hansen is a superb singer and frontman.
And just who in the hell is lowu

I hope this album is a hit, I mean, I like just about anything that comes out from any of my favorite groups like Journey, Foreigner, and hopefully a new Styx album will come out (doubtful).

Does this album have platinum potential? What do you guys think?

It only has to be bought by 500k people since it's a double disc, still might be hard as the downloads vs CD purchases is going more and more to complete digital distribution.
If Foreigner can get on the Hot 100 chart, I'll call that a success. Reo and Journey haven't been able to do it this last decade (both groups had two A/C hits on their last releases), so it would be very cool if it happens. The music business is all about hit songs now, the day of album sales is dwindling fast with Itunes allowing you to pick and choose only the songs you like.

Sounds pretty good so far, Kelly Hansen is probably the perfect choice to be vocalist for the legendary Foreigner.

I`ve seen them live with Kelly and he sounded fantastic, hit all the notes etc.

A surprisingly subdued, low key vocal from Hansen.
Decent song, but not quite lead single material.
