My chances of affording front row tickets, should the chance arise? Not so much.
Last month I got a ticket for doing twenty miles over the limit. Which was not great, but okay, at with a lawyer I had chan ce of getting it dropped. And at least I still had my health and my car. Now, I have my health, albelt a sore one, but no car. On my way to work this past Monday I took the shortcut and in doing so went through what I thought was a green light and had a car slam into the passenger side of my car. Luckily there were no passengers, no one was seriously hurt, but my three year old, three month just paid off car is DOA. Plus I got a ticket. A witness said I went through a red light and that other driver was coming out into teh intersection from a side road.. I'm not so sure about that because I very distinctally remember seeing a green light and seeing teh car that hit me pull out of the store not the road beside. Still it's the word of the witness against mine. And in this instance, and according to the police report I was not speeding. I was going 35 in a 50 mile zone, 28 miles at impact.
Has anyone here had a similar experience? Could I lose my license? The speeding ticket court date comes first and my lawyer said they are two seperate issues and that one won't effect the other. Since I've had an otherwise clean record, he says he can get the speeding ticket dropped altogether. Still I don't know. It's been a crappy two months to be sure. I live in NC.
I wouldnt worry about it too much You can fight it in court if you want. Even if you dont win you will probably have to pay a fine and get a couple points and your insurance company may up your rate . You wont lose your license.scarygirl wrote:Hi all. Damn girl... I'm glad you're okay!To answer your question, no... you won't lose your liscense just for an accident. I had 3 in a two year period when I was younger. It just raised my insurance!
I'm just glad to hear you're okay. THAT's what matters. Cars can be replaced. I do feel for you though, maybe your insurance will cover it? I'd try to take as many photos as you can of the area, and take it to court if you feel like you were right. Even though the witness is saying you're wrong... they're human just like the rest of us. I'd talk to your attourney too.
Well, good luck with it, and I hope it comes out in your favor.

Sorry you've had such a bad run of luck.
It's really good to see you on here, if that makes you feel any better.

The ambulance ride was kind of fun and the vicodin was awesome. My car has front and side curtain air bags and they all opened. One clocked me in the nose and gave me a bleeder. I also twisted my back and neck . I tell you one thing, I can run fast! I was out of the car within five secoond of the car stopping. I literally jumped out of the car with my shoes still in it. I had on sliders.I am lucky because my car was pushed 34 feet into the mediant. A couple more and I would have wound up in on coming traffic.
