Perry Tribute Site Bites The Dust

I never received many PM's from K from Perryville while I was a member there. Also, at the few chats I went to at that site, nothing nasty went on.

However, at another site, the administrator actually pretended to be SP in chat.

Hi, new to this all, so please bear with me. Been reading this board for a few years and decided to sign up upon seeing the good news of the possible downfall of PV.

I also knew Chrissy, we met thru PV. Chrissy was incredible and after she finally met Steve, she could talk about it for hours (and did). The last time I spoke to Chrissy was 5 days before she died, and even then she spoke about meeting Steve. I miss her.

I am here to authenticate everything both Deb and Tarseea have said. I can also say that Lora was used by Kathy. I can also say without a doubt that Kathy told everyone thru pm that Steve visited that site a couple of times a week.

Now about the forum. A forum like this can be broke down by the administartor. That person can determine what you can see and what you can't see. In all fairness to Lora and Cyndi here, they were only allowed to see maybe 20% of the forum. That was where all the "fawning" went on. Of the 80% left, some members had access to all of it, or only some of it. The "auction" area, or as I referred to it as "Kathy's groceries money area" was accessed by all.

There was another area, where Kathy would put up "Steve collectables" , items she was told she could sell by the Man himself. Now many people believed she had a hot line to the man, but she didn't, never has never will. In this area, she sold mugs with Steve's face on them for $30.00, date books with Steve on it, note cards ala Steve, luggage tags, yep Steve on them also etc etc. Proof, I bought alot of the stuff foolishly myself. All pictures covered the wide eras of Steve, 80', 90's, 2000's. If she could find a way of selling it she did. There was also the empty promise that when Steve did "release" another cd, it would be done so thru PV first.

As far as the money for the MAW foundation, there hasn't been any donations made, and check it out if you dont believe me, in 2 years, possibly more. There were many "donations" taken up for various things, and that money also never made it to where it was supppose to go. But when questions would arise, Kathy always told them, "I will ban you and I am your only way to meeting Steve."

Two women sent her very deep personal letters regarding Steve. She claims she could use them to get more of what she wanted. Neither of these women knew that Kathy sent the emails out like a mass mailing, with the refernce that they were both sick in the head. Both of those women left the forum.

I have recieved emails from 8 different former members all spilling their guts about PV. The unfortunate thing is that some people when they left or were banned, left with a bad taste about Steve primarily because she claimed access to him. I WANT TO SAY QUITE CLEARLY STEVE PERRY DOES NOT, NEVER DID PARTICIPATE IN AND HAS NEVER AUTHORIZED THE PERRYVILLE WEBSITE.

I am so sorry about all the crap that went on at PV.I am thrilled i got out when i did.I was one of us that went to Cat's site....and glad that i did ...i had made some great friends at PV and they went to Cat's site as well.So did not want to lose that friendship.You see Kathy can not take everything away from you.I am glad that Chrissy got to meet Steve and the others.I did hear that Chrissy had passed and we did not know her but was upset as well.And yes God did need another Angel with him.She also told us Steve came to the site useing Lora's user name.But Lora has said he dose not go to the sites.I believe Lora and not Kathy.
I am really sorry so many wonderful ladies were hurt by her.But she will pay for what she has done.If not her on earth she will with our Father.

Sarah, I just remember that whole "copywright" incident was a nightmare. I felt bad because I was just trying to make a cute picture for BJG for her birthday. I did not however want to start a whole brew ha ha over a picture I aquired from a blog site unrelated to PV! But as I said, she asked I removed, no problem. My main regret was the mess that ensued on BJG's Birthday thread, which was and should should have been a lovely way to tell a sweet person Happy Birthday! There are so many pictures on the net with Perry's face on them, and most have been reproduced many times. I know I had seen that photo so many times myself before. I thought it was what we call Public Domain............Geez I wish I had picked any other picture now..................I hate Drama!

Interesting read.. so Kathy used to come here and post. After reading these I can see why Andrew would not let her post anymore. I could just see her coming in now on this thread, she would be ripped a new one in a heartbeat.

Not everyone is completely vile and terrible and it seems this thread is leading to that conclusion. Certainly she lied and she cheated and she took money (it appears) that did not belong to her and used it for her own personal use. She manipulated and used people. But people gravitated to her and blindly gave of themselves and went along with her shenanigans each and every one she put it out there. They were truly inviting and fun games to play! She said she had info, tapes and all kinds of things available that had his name, picture and likeness on. She did not make you buy these things; you sent in your money and bought them of your own free will. Truly indeed; she was awful. She said she had info maybe she didn't have but I think she believed she did have specific info from people who thought they were privy to; info others did not. I don't know Kathy and she took me for money and she banned me a few times from her site until there was a total ban of me. She read my PMs. She had people whom I thought were my friends share my private emails with her. I think what she did was terrible but I also think she was manipulated by others as well. On this crazy Internet world people can get you into believing a lot of things which may or may not be true. I am pretty sure she did not do this all on her own. She is not the brightest person but she is crafty. She used what she had and made use of the info. I'm glad she is gone but I think as you were manipulated so was she into believing she could do what she wanted to do and get away with it cause she had these close confidential relationships with others who were telling her about things which may or may not be true. I'm glad this chapter of the Journey/Steve Perry story is over. Good riddance. But even with all of this said, I feel sorry for someone who initially thought this was all fun and games until she thought she could make it into a money making venture.

I find it ironic that she didn't like others to take her photos when she was accused of doing that same thing.

As for money, maybe she did and maybe she didn't...don't know...she could have trusted someone else to send it in and they didn't.

Marabelle, you have a point. We're all grown ups and went into it with eyes wide open. It started out quite fun. But Kathy's controlling nature became more and more clear to me over time. But I just chocked it up to it's her site, we are visitors, etc. But over time many, many instances were over the top. It actually all started to fall apart before the Perry meet back in 2006. It was originally about 1/2 a dozen of us who had been chatting and posting back and forth for quite a while planning a weekend get-together in Cali to meet first the first time. It started out with a few of us staying at my Burbank friend's house, she invited and was comfortable in knowing us enough thru chats, etc. to do this. Then Kathy opened it up on PV for who ever wanted to come. Which was perfectly fine, the more the merrier. But I could tell my friend was getting more and more uncomfortable with the number and who was all coming. And I could fully understand, it was her home and she had nothing against anybody but she didn't know them from Adam. I mentioned to her to voice her concerns to K about just the few people she felt she knew well enough staying at her house and with more and more people coming, could maybe look into hotels. I think K's nose was out of joint cuz she couldn't control who and how many were staying where.

I can understand controlling what goes on inside your site but not out in the free world. She wanted complete control of what we were to do and go that weekend. And it just wasn't going to happen that way, you get 12 adult women together and you are not all going to want or go do the same thing 24/7. So a few of us stayed at my friend's in Burbank and some in hotel. Her nose was out of joint when things weren't in her complete control and she treated a few close friends like L (Burbank), Cindi, Jill/Gary like crap that weekend, which pissed me off.....as L opened her home a couple times that weekend for coffee/gab fest to "everybody". Way too many instances like that piled up after the meet also and it was just too much drama for me, I wasn't going to stick around and keep kissing the queen bee's ass. So I left without making a big production on the board, don't even recall making an exit post. Just sent a pm to Kathy and the 2 or 3 moderators as to why I was leaving (the crap going down behind the scenes) so if anybody asked they weren't just hearing K's side after I was gone. I guess my glass-half-full and her glass-half-empty kinda personalities just didn't mesh.

I don't take any glee in her site falling apart and whatever is happening with K, I actually kinda feel sorry for her, but it was inevitable. You DO reap what you sew. And I DO cherish some of the great friendships I made through PV, but haven't missed it at all in the last few years. I just hope to God that the accusations about the MAWF funds are not true.......that is just wrong on so many f*cking levels.

Eh, people don't get forced into pyramid schemes, either. I don't think ~if this all happened~ that she is a better person because people gave of their own free will. She'd be just crafty enough to take other Perry fans for suckers... it'd be easy to get people to give freely using the guy they would do anything for.
