Cool video. She's going to like this when she signs on. It may be a few hours though, it's like 4 or 5 am where she is.

That's O.K. It took me a while to make and download. Figured I would get it in early. She has had enough on her plate as of late. The kids had a blast! :D

Ginger, I'm speechless and crying and laughing and overwhelmed! Please, tell your class I loved this so much. Mamma would have been absolutely chuffed.

For those of you who are wondering what this is all about, my mother lived several hundred miles inland as a child, and when she was growing up, she only saw pictures of sea-horses in illustrated books of fairy tales, so she assumed that they were like mermaids, fairies and elves, something from a fairytale. When she was 19, she saw live sea-horses in an aquarium and was absolutely blown away that they were real. For her whole adult life, she always thought of them as real, live fairies.

I've been asking various artist friends if they would do a work of art involving sea-horses for me, as a memorial to my Mamma, and Ginger was one of the people I asked. She told her class the story, and this is the wonderful result.

Ginger, please let me know how many children are in your class; I would love to send them something from Australia as a thank you for this wonderful gift.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Ari, I was inspired by your mother's story, and since these children have suffered a loss recently as well, (their teacher killed in a car accicent), I felt it would be theraputic for them as well. They loved doing it. :D I will only be teaching them for 3 more days, so don't worry about sending anything. Trust me, I will just tell them what you said, and that would make their day. I will copy the slide show and show them Monday. They will be tickled pink their pictures were enjoyed all the way in Austrailia. It was a wonderful way to do their writing assignment.

I am glad you enjoyed it. Your a good friend, and I think the world of you. :D

P.S. I taught myself how to make a slide presentation.............That was a lot of fun too!

She was that. This kind of sums up what sort of person she was - http://anthraxia.livejournal.com/72395.html One of her friends who is a devout Christian used to tell people that the best Christian she knew was an atheist, being my mother. Which kind of says it too.

Beautiful!!!!

In a world that can be so cold & impersonal it's overwhelming to witness true gifts of the heart!

Your a great friend. I truely was inspired to do this peice. Let me tell you I worked so hard on it my hands got numb! I had to lay off for a few days before I started the new one!

I hope I don't bore the rest of you with my artwork. I do enjoy sharing it and getting feedback on it. It helps to hear what folks think. The art market is not good right now, due to the economy, and the competition is brutal. I am always trying to improve. Thanks for everyones patience with me. :D
