Question about Journey Album

Postby journeygirl » Mon Aug 10, 2009 5:19 am

Hey, I went to the world's largest yard sale this weekend. It goes from Ohio to Ala and stretches 400 miles long. Anyway, I found this man who was selling records. We got to talking about Journey. I bought Infinity, Evolution, Escape, Departure, Frontiers, Raised on Radio, and an unopened Street Talk. I got all of these for 20.00, which I thought was a good deal. Most are in mint condition. He pulled out this other one called JOURNEY IN THE BEGINNING. I have never heard of this one before. It was unopened and he wanted 75.00 for it. I got his name and number as I was not going to throw down that kind of money on a record I have never heard of before. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this album and if it's actually worth the cash. Thanks!

Can you be more specific on the location of this yard sale? You've got my interest, journeygirl. I'd really like to go. Sorry, I can't help you with your JOURNEY IN THE BEGINNING question. You might try Googling it, however.

I thought the first album was just called "JOURNEY". Were these vinyl records?

It's a compilation of their first 3 pre Perry albums. Double album.

Jason....the yard sale ended today but they have it every year. I went with my cousin who had a booth set up. This was the first time I had ever gone.

Steveo.... yes these are vinyl records.

The man told me he has some 45 singles of Journey too. But he did not have them with him. I googled the album and found this link.

http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/ ... CC000332A3

It doesn't give much info though. The album was a double album, black with a simple Scarab on the front. I didn't notice the tracklisting....but it said something like JOURNEY IN THE BEGINNING 1975-1977 so I figured it was before Perry. This man had most of the Journey albums. There was Journey and Next and Into The Future that I didn't buy. They were all still sealed up and he wanted 25.oo each for them.

Yep, that's the one. I still wonder if it's really worth the money though. Thanks for the link!

$75 omg. I think I bought it for $15 at a record store a few years ago.

Yeah, it's a legit album though. Shameless plug, I've got all the studio and compilation albums, and singles I've come across, on http://journeyloaded.com

Thats a ridiculous amount of money for that release. It's a bargain bin release and nothing more. $10-$12 on ebay. They can't get shot of em for around $6.

I can get it at a more reasonable price online. I'm glad I waited, he was kinda pushy with the albums. I think he seen the blond hair and big boobs and thought he had a sucker. But I'm not one to get pushed into buying something I know nothing about. Thanks for the link Sarah, I've never seen this site before. I'm gonna have to check it out closer when I get the chance.
