WCTNGOF is a song I wanted to hear last year. Now, though, after hearing how Faithfully sounds stepped down and Arnel's inability of late to produce that one clean (as in not sounding like a gargled scream) high note at the end which would be required, I think it would come off rather poorly.
To be fair, I'll wait for the youtube videos before I give any further analysis.

So are we going for a show where Deen sings 1/2 the songs??

Deen absolutely nailed OA and Faithfully when he sang them on a nightly basis. They should switch on and off if AP can't keep in time consistently. Maybe he needs a hearing exam to see if it's a physical issue why he is falling behind on some of the songs. It doesn't sound good when he has to rush to the end of the verse to try and make it back into rhythm.

He wasn't having all these problems until they changed the tuning. I think thats part of the issue. Didn't Jeff say is was more difficult to sing this way?

If they're gonna be from FTLOSM, then we can go ahead and put his ass in the same shipping crate as Arnel, and save on postage.

Now, back to Soto. If those vocals on the W.E.T. sample are any indication, we have a serious contender here, folks.

I would just like to say that NO ONE should touch Winds Of March! That is just about the only song (along with I'm Cryin') that I have always felt should not be attempted by anyone else. Some of the magic has worn off over the years as my tastes have changed but I hold on to this ideal. Arnel may do fine with it, but he shouldn't. Plain and simple.

I agree, and I don't even want older Perry attempting them, not even in his FTLOSM days. They were done by young Perry at his finest vocally. Two of my favorite songs and perfection as they were.

Perry is doing great finally recording. Steve Augeri is back singing. JSS is doing great. And Journey is kicking ass this year with Arnel as lead singer to great reviews overall, much to some people's dismay, and Neal is on fire, as are Jon, Deen, and Ross. I couldn't be happier. So I am spreading my sunshine all around.
