OT | OT means OT!

Postby Jeremey » Sun Aug 16, 2009 1:54 am

Sorry! If you clicked an OT thread here and expected to read some great information about Journey, Steve Perry, or Arnel, you missed out!

As I mentioned below, if a topic says OT, please don't come on and bitch about the content of the post.

With 300 views or so, I think anyone here who wanted to know the outcome of the accusations made against me earlier this week have seen it. Carry on.

Can this shit die already? I'm sick of hearing about it. I was stoked and wanted to see you guys when you were in Dallas, but life events precluded me from doing so. Now, I'm glad I missed it. Quit being a windbaggy bitch. Nobody here wants to read this shit, evidently. You and Barry solve your problems and leave us out of it for gods sake.

You are so right. Exactly. Being whiny is another word I would use reading this stuff all the time.

+1

Sorry, but you sing for a Journey tribute band. I wouldn't care about Journey's in-band conflicts like you want us to care about Frontiers'. Never seen you live, never intend to after listening to this every single week. Sorry.

Why read about it if you don't care? There was like an 8 page thread here about how I lied and cheated people, that I obviously didn't start, so I just posted this here to follow up.

Like so many other OT threads here, if you don't care, don't click an OT thread and certainly don't bitch and whine about it when you do!

Frontiers, the Journey tribute band, had nothing to do with anything that was posted here about me personally. The band has nothing to do with any of me trying to clear my name. Hey, if a thread was allowed to go 8 pages before being closed about nothing but some douchebag bringing up me and my personal business, I just felt like it was a good idea to follow up here.

Again, notice the giant "OT" in the topic.

Dude, your post went on for a few hours before I responded, so evidently nobody wants to hear it, or they would have responded. That being said, I would suggest that you not post shit that people don't want to read. Fair enough?

Rick, what part about watching a band play Journey music for 2 hours are you glad you missed? Do you think I jumped down in front of 1000 people and started being a windbaggy bitch in the middle of the show? What the fuck does me trying to address the accusations against me personally have to do with Frontiers??

And I said in my original post that I hoped no one would post anything and it would "sink to oblivion" and it would have done exactly what I wanted it to do had you not needed to have your say in the matter. I figured anyone here who wanted to know about it would have read it and left it alone.

It's about the character you've displayed Jeremey.

I wouldn't have gone to see Frontiers if you weren't in the band. I was a fan of yours. But I can't follow a guy with your demeanor. Simply put, you've destroyed my fanship with your postings.

Sorry, Rick. 6000 views on a thread defaming me and my family and my job. So sorry you think you know me by my posts on this forum. As I said, this would have sunk to oblivion had you not needed to post your .02 here.

As far as I know, your intention was to rile shit up by posting your first post on the subject, which says something to me about YOUR character.

Forums can be a pain in the ass, really. Problem is it's not like reality, where you say your piece in person, and it's generally forgotten about quickly. Forums there is so much impact on what you say, because it's always there! you can always go back read things and think "that post makes me so cross" and re-live that experience, where in fact if was said in reality, you would forget about it and buried into yesterdays wind. Forums are annoying is where 50 people will post against 1 person, then that 1 person has to reply to everyone individually... hate that, pisses me off to no end, to be honest.

In defense on both parties here, I don't think it's the post that is a problem... it's posting things on a forum in general that makes things painful. For the record, this post didn't bother me, I think it shouldn't be open for discussion however, but Jeremey can't lock threads unfortunately.

sometimes it's better to leave things alone. the last bit of drama is old news and faded from memory, but this just brings it back up. if you really want it to be done with, let it go. i'd expect barry to come in and say something as you've sort of trashed him here.

Vladan and Lula, you're both right. The point was, I originally did not want to post anything here, and made that clear in a meeting we had. The more I thought about it though, I just felt like a lot of people saw some pretty negative stuff about me on this forum, and I just wanted to follow up an addendum. There wasn't really anything inflammatory in my OP, though I've removed it now. But I wish it would have just been read by those interested and allowed to sink to page 3 or 4 on this forum.

Anyway, back to Journey, right!? :D

Jeremey has a great voice, but zero tact.

That's important, because tact is what people are looking for when they go to a rock concert.

Yeah it's all good mate! you rock. One question, when your singing, do you put that "cartoon" sound, like elmer fudd mix into your singing?, because I've been doing that all weekend, and I've been able to stay on pitch and have more a middle/mixed sound. It's a work in progress thing :)

I agree with Vladan and Lula too. I've got a quick mouth and a quick temper myself and I'm still learning this lesson, sometimes painfully, but sometimes it really is better to speak softly and carry the big stick. Play your shows, rock people and show 'em a good time, contribute your musical knowledge here and leave this kind of shit to others to speculate. If someone wants to air dirty laundry with you on here unprovoked, you have every right to defend yourself. But starting things anew like this is just bound to reignite passions on all sides.

I go for more of a Cartman sound in my singing actually. It's what allows me to really bridge the mix between the chest and head voice!

Yeah, Matt...I agree. I think if the things that were said about me had actually been deleted instead of allowed to stay on the internet and come up in searches and stuff, it would have been easier not to have posted anything here about it. But they're still there, a few pages down, and anyone can always come to good 'ol MR and read all about it!

Beautiful mate, just great! I knew it! :) I'm making huge progress, you are 100 percent right mate (of course), but it all makes sense now.

Perhaps it would have been better done if you'd just posted the link to the facebook page, said something like 'for those who give a shit about the hoo-ha from earlier, this is the follow-up; hopefully we can all just move on and get along now' and left it at that.

But I totally understand the 'heat of the moment' postings, when the emotions get you and you can't let it go, then in retrospect think 'hmm, probably should have handled that differently.'
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
