I have a question for all you Perry-holics.... we all knew about Sherrie Swafford, we knew what she looked like and we've all read about the rocky relationship between her and Steve. But my question is this..... who was Robin? A friend of mine and I was talking about this today and I just thought I'd ask about it here. It is to my understanding that they were together for like 10 years. But never no photos? Never no mention of her name.... no where, ever. Is this a tabu subject when it comes to Perry.... or am I just sticking my nose where it shoudn't be? Just curious, that's all.

Never saw a photo of Robin (any that has been positively identified). Steve did mentioned "Robin & Royce" in the liner notes on the FTLOSM cd. Speculation was Robin's a single mom with a little boy named Royce. There's also the 1999 Bob Coburn radio show which had Steve sitting in promoting his GH+5 -- at one point, mentioning a Robin .... "there's Robin ... she's so cute." I have the audiotape of the show on cd. I have also seen transcripts of the show on SP fan sites a long time ago.

In the TBF promo tapes, Steve repeatedly said he was in a "monogamous relationship.” We can only deduce that lady to be Robin. By the early 2000's, questions probing his personal status got the answer that he was "presently unattached." The last few years, though, Steve has been mum about this topic.

Possibly the reason Steve doesn't mention names of girlfriends, or a wife............yes girls he might have married without your knowledge!............ :wink:

, would be because of all the hoopla over Sherrie probably hurt their relationship. We do need to be careful not to scare away people who love and care for him. I personally would hate to think the fans kept him lonely and sad. I hope he is married happily and has children. I wish for him a full and happy life. His music has made mine so rich!

He does have a daughter and grandchildren...

Who knows what broke up Sherrie and Steve... it could of been his work... it could of been that Sherrie had issues.... there was a time where Steve had a motor home that he traveled in... and had Sherrie with him... to work on their relationship... who really knows what happened... only Steve and Sherrie knows why it ended ....

I really don't care now what Steve does in his private life... I would just like to hear some new music out of him!

and I was about to ask, does anyone have the red carpet picture with the lovely dark hair girl hanging around? There it is! Somewhere back in the day I remember a thread about this picture and thought it ended up that this was a cousin who accompanied him for this special event, whatever that was. Anyone with better info and a better memory?

I just meant that I think some people think SP is such a saint that if he's with a woman she has to be a good/sweet person..at least I think that's what they mean...my interpretation as it were...

Of course, SP could just be "a fool for a pretty face"...think I'll go listen to some Humble Pie...

I just think it becomes sad when we start to criticize people in his life. I remember some girls being so ugly to Sherrie. Well she isn't very pretty...........etc........ I would bet through his eyes............their beauty is unmatched, and their attire is not top on his list. Though I don't think you meant to be unkind, you seem quite nice. :wink:
