You should start a "Fabulous Shoes" thread!  All you women, and Jason could talk and compare. Just messing with you. I'm glad you all had a great time, and it sounds like I missed a GREAT show AND meal. :( Maybe I'll make it up there for the next one.

lol...I was the table's garbage disposal. I had Dr. Fu give me her leftover shrimp, and Deb gave me the remainder of her steak and mashed potaoes. Both were promptly inhaled. The food was spectacular, the open bar was awesome, the people were a ton of fun, the event was run amazingly well and the music was excellent. This is a can't miss event, Jim. You have to go next year.

We really did see Keith Urban at O'Hare ... and Elvis at the the bar Friday night (tried for a picture of that one, but it didn't turn out).

Adam played the drums for Separate Ways ... he may have been a tad nervous because the tempo was speeedy ... he did a great job and it was clear that his dad was really proud

Rip and SA ... notice the 70 things he brought to have signed on the table at right

And that may be underestimating! The collection of things Rip brought to have signed would have made Tito blush!   I'm laughing just thinking about it.

Val and Butch put together a top notch event. That was an incredibly well run event and I can't even imagne the countless hours that went into it. Many thanks to both of them and everyone else that donated their time, money, and/or talent. I got teary eyed several times last night. And, no, one of them was not when they closed the bar.

Can I just say that partying with rock stars in fabulous frocks is just the best fun ever?

Fence sitters, ya'll need to get a piggy bank right now, label it JTTC Fund and save up for the trip next year.

BTW, it was very nice to meet Amanda, MCC620, ILJOURNEYFAN, Val, Butch and to see so many familiar faces like Theresa, Cheryl and her husband, and many others.

When I get the energy I'll post the story about the people at the table next to us. Wow...what a bunch of partying motherfuckers!  8) Talk about knowing how to have a good time. I laughed at them all night long. What a great bunch of people.

Musical highlight of the night for me: Steve Augeri singng a killer acoustic version of Kiss Me Softly. What a great song! Acoustic Faithfully was great as well.

I love him on Kiss Me Softly. I hope there's a clip. I wish he would do a solo album with that kind of vibe. It really suits his voice. 8)

I am an unfortunate one that never got to see Augeri live. Hopefully one day I can watch him do his thing on stage, I appreciate him as a singer and by the way he handles himself as a person. Got to admire that.

With proper planning and people stepping up to the plate I could see MR having at least 2 tables there next year. I can't even begin to tell you guys and gals what you're missing out on.

It'll cost about $500 for air, hotel and a ticket. Plenty of people to cart you to and from the airport and around town. Save $10 every week for a year. Get yourself a little piggy bank, Trav.

As I said to SJ in a PM,

I really was hoping to be there but my car was blasted to bits in a hail storm at the last minute. I could have maybe swung it, but it would have been tough.

Hope it can finally happen next year, although I will likely be at the Sturgis Rally (Aug 7 to 15 2010). Here's hoping that the date picked out for next year is not the 14th! 8)

With people talking about Journey doing acoustic sets, Do you think the song would have sounded great regardless of the room size or did the intimate setting play a part in how well the song went over with everyone?

It was just cool to be so close and hear that song. I think the intimate setting and cause had a lot to do with how it came across. Steve really poured a lot of emotion into that particular song. What a nice surprise.

My view ... the majority of the folks at this event were SA fans, not just Journey fans. Many people (including Ross) have long thought this was the song that Steve's talents really shine through on. It was fabulous. Deb even told the guy standing next to her and talking loudly to shut up because she'd been waiting 10 years to hear it. :D At a regular concert with generic fans ... beer tent.

Was Steve on guitar during this song or Faithfully?

Yes, both; he did an acoustic set to start the show; he played one guitar and his good friend Tom played the other.
