Wish there was a way to get the re-records with Eric Singer's drums but Paul & Gene's original 70's vocals.

KISS has always been known for looping & overdubbing....since day one.
Who knows what you'll get with these 'new' re-records.
I'll buy it regardless.

Thanks for the clip!!! I am SO glad that they went back to a true retro-sounding album. If this clip is any sign of what's to come... It's going to be an incredible album. :D Let's just keep our fingers crossed. I think they all sounded great in the clip I heard, and was even impressed with Gene's voice! :D Sounds classic to me.

They were released in Japan last year and have thus been available on the internet for about a year. I didn't mind them, esp. since I'm not particularly fond of the sound quality of a lot of Kiss' 70's studio records. But they're kind of pointless, for the most part since they seem like they're trying to re-create the original studio versions rather than perhaps capturing the live energy of this lineup and "updating" the recordings. I'd almost go so far as to say a casual fan might not even immediately recognize they're listening to a new recording of "I Love It Loud" or whatnot.

They're definitely less 'offensive' in concept than the Journey re-records given that, except for "Black Diamond" they're all songs originally sung by Gene & Paul, who sound okay given that they're studio recordings, but I wasn't blown away by any of the vocal performances either, which is why I said it'd be great to have the updated, improved-sounding instrumental tracks with Paul & Gene's original vocals, before they got too old to pretend that they're in their 20's.

Also, I should add, there's already relatively recent studio re-records of 70's Kiss tunes on Alive III and Alive-The Millenium Concert. Those albums are about as live and authentic as pro wrestling.

What excites me about the 1 minute clip is that you could hear Gene singing backing vocals and they are seemingly allowing Singer to sound like Singer and not Peter.

The best thing about KISS = Gene Simmons' basslines.

I mean, really, can you imagine a KISSong sans Gene's bass? Blub-blub, blub-blub, blub-blub, BLUB-bub-BLUB!

To me, the only thing 70s sounding about this song is the rhythm guitar riff......in reality, it sounds like a amalgam of Revenge, Creatures, and a smidge of 70s(guitar riff).....

I'm so excited for the new CD. Just went and saw them for 2 nights in Canada and they looked and sounded fantastic!! They just added a show in Detroit that I really want to check out.

One last time, before the walls come down, Cobo Arena will hear a SONIC BOOM...

KISS returns with their brand new stage to where it all started, playing the album that started it all...KISS Alive!

KISS will perform a special KISS ALIVE 35 show at Detroit Rock City's legendary concert venue, Cobo Arena, on September 25! This historic structure, which is slated for closure, has hosted KISS concerts on numerous occasions, not the least of which was the series of shows that were recorded to become the KISS ALIVE! album. Tracks made famous on KISS ALIVE! - including "Rock and Roll All Nite," "Deuce," "Black Diamond," and "Hotter Than Hell" - are well represented on the greatest hits disc included with SONIC BOOM.

The Detroit show, which will live another 35 years in KISStory, goes on sale to the public at 5 pm EDT on August 21 at TICKETMASTER.

A KISS ARMY Members-Only ticket presale will take place Wednesday from 10AM - 10PM EDT.

KISS ARMY Members will have access to MEMBERS-Only tickets..these are among the best available seats in Cobo Arena.

Meet & Greet upgrade packages will also be available.

Cobo might be the worst sounding arena (arena, not stadium) I've ever been in. Good thing Alive! and Seger's Live Bullet weren't really all that 'live'. (Seger going so far as to put the word 'live' in quotation marks right on the cover)
