EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – The Minnesota Vikings say they have a deal to bring Brett Favre back to the NFL.

The 39-year-old quarterback took a plane to Minnesota on Tuesday, drove to Vikings training camp and was in a helmet and pads less than 90 minutes after arriving. His practice jersey was the familiar No. 4, the same number he wore for years with the rival Packers.

The team confirmed a deal was done to The Associated Press, but terms were not immediately disclosed.

This is Favre's second comeback. A year ago, the former Packers star came out of a short retirement to join the Jets.

I never said he wasn't a great QB splash... Never said he missed a game either...

But the NFL isn't just a game of inches.. its a game of nano seconds... and a 39 year old Farve will not last too long with an offensive line that is ranked 20th

I don't agree with how Favre handled ANY of these situations since March of 2008. But, this is going to provide NFL fans with a helluva storyline and you'd all be liars to say you won't watch that Monday Night when Favre heads to Green Bay at Lambeu field. Minnesota has their team right now to where any team wants to be. To win in this league you have to stop the run, and run the ball. They got both, which are the best in Football at the moment. With the addition of Favre, he can propel them to new heights with as far as even game planning is concerned. I think I'm the only one that's lovin this move by the Vikes.

Remember, it was just 2 years ago that a 13-3, Championship run Green Bay Packers was led by a furious and money, Brett Favre. My opinion, he still got it.

If he can stay relatively healthy and the Vikings can play some playoff games at home they're gonna be a motherfucker to beat. In the game of football, everybody is gunning for everybody. Brett Favre holds the record for consecutive starts in ALL of sports. He hasn't missed a start ever since his first start in 1992. What makes you think in 18 years worth of hits, that 1 hit is going to change that? The man is invulnerable. I agree with everything you said Dan, but the dome comment. Brett Favre is actually a HORRID dome player, and his record is well under .500 when playing in Domes. I think it's like 6-13, or 6-14 or something, not sure the exact W-L's but no, he has not thrived in games when playing in a Dome. He's played in Green Bay for 17 years of his career, and we all know the field is frozen in October when it comes to Lambeu. If anyone, Favre is the ultimate player when playing in cold weather.

I guess 1 stat is worth mentioning to a certain agree.
