OT - Women and Shoes

Postby S2M » Wed Aug 19, 2009 6:39 am

What is the deal with women and shoes? They can't seem to be able to wear a pair more than once....then they are out looking for another pair to wear for 3 hours - only to cast them aside for yet another pair.....I'm damn sure lucky I'm not a pair of shoes.......or am I?

Not all women are like that....I've never really gotten into shoes...I have a few pairs that I can wear with almost anything and I wear them till they are worn out!!! The exception is running shoes which I replace every 3 months...and I HATE shoe shopping.

Shoes and clothes especially for important events. It's off to the mall, if there's a holiday party coming up, for the new dress and shoes , hair, nails, pedicure, on and on. You practically need a week off to get ready. No matter if you have something better in your closet. It's the newness of the dress and shoes that gives you a feeling of exhilaration.

Or once they become too much of a giant pain in the ass to deal with.

I mean the shoes. Yeah. :? The shoes.

I love shoes! Went barefoot a lot as a kiddie. However, I check out a person's shoes before I look at their face sometimes.

Nowadays, I'm looking for a pair that don't hurt...bone spurs galore...and I suspect I may have arthritis in my toes. :( Now I have to walk a mile to the grocery store and a mile back home.

I have developed a shoe fetish after meeting a woman at work with the sexiest footwear collection. Now I pay attention to women's shoes!

Don't forget women and purses. I never saw the big attraction myself. I have 2 handbags, one for winter and one for summer. I use them until they fall apart, then I buy a new one. I can't believe what some women will pay for a purse. I guess it's a status thing.

This thread cracks me up because I have NEVER been a shoe person. But then today, I was out back to school shopping with my kids, and found the cutest little pair of strappy heels that I loved and had to have. SO not like me  Now I just have to figure out a time and a place to wear them!!! LOL Of course they aren't the really tall high heeled things! I'd kill myself on those  I think all the years I worked in health care wearing sneakers ruined me for the shoe thing but maybe I'm onto a new habit....

My wifes Bra, Underwear, Shirt, Pants and Shoes all have to match in some way or another She spend at least 15 minutes before bed everynight figuring out what goes together. She drives me nuts!

I would be ashamed to admit how many pairs of shoes I have  . Handbags, on the other hand - I'm with you there - just something I could never justify spending a lot of money on (not to mention the time it takes to switch everything from one to another - I invariably miss something!)

Pretty damn awesome, if only just to see 2 old guys that still have it! Here's a clip of Johnny Winter - have to laugh at the comment, he really does look like a corpse (we weren't up this close - my vids didn't turn out so well). The video doesn't really do his performance justice. Hopefully someone will post something from Dr. John.

I'm not a big shoe person either, but I do buy a few pairs all year it seems, lol. I'm just not much of a girly-girl, but I do love purses too. And 2 words for where I've gotten the designer ones I have- outlet stores. No way I'd pay full price for those, lol. And they're worth it after years of buying cheapy ones that fall apart and the zipper breaks (always :x ). I don't mind switching here and there because I don't carry much, just essentials. But shoe wise I live in sandals practically all year, since it's hot as hell here most of the year, or Nikes, which I have several pairs of for work (nurse) and working out. Also outlet store buys, won't pay full price for those either, lol.

You should adore your wife for that and kiss the ground she walks on   . I'm like a hurricane most mornings. I can't find anything. One shoe missing. Missing belt. Missing car keys. It goes on and on. I can tear the bedroom or house apart in 15 minutes flat b/f leaving for work. It's a talent. 8)
