ALRIGHT!!!! UNCLE!!!! I CONFESS!!!!! (haha

) I've been avoiding this thread like the plaque b/c where I come from Neil Diamond is not someone you admit to being a fan of. However, you guys have coerced the truth right outta me. I grew up listening to Neil Diamond b/c my mom always played his music. Neil Diamond was her "Elvis." She used to jokingly say that he was the one man she'd leave my dad for & so, yes, I confess, Neil Diamond is a fave of mine as well. He's one of the guilty pleasures that I don't readily admit to being a fan of b/c where I come from it's not "cool" to like Neil Diamond. Still, I love his music & I have almost every single one of his albums, Hot August Night being my fave. It's virutally impossible for me to pick a favorite song of mine. It all depends on the mood I'm in. Shilo takes me back to my childhood as does Brooklyn Roads. September Morn makes me all sappy inside. I Am, I Said & Play Me have such simple, yet powerful lyrics which just goes to prove that a song doesn't have to be full of a whole lot of "fluff" to have meaning. Of course I love all the well-known oldies as well: Cracklin' Rosie; Cherry, Cherry, Solitary Man, Forever In Blue Jeans. I wonder how many of you remember the song Porcupine Pie. I had
that one on a 45 rpm. Remember those? Some of you do, I'm sure. 45's were a little before my time, but my mom had tons of them so I listened to them right along with her. Neil Diamond is legendary.
