So I thought  . I put my hand over a vent, and there is nothing cool about the air coming out. So I called the office, which was closed, and left a message that the air wasn't working. They had the "on call" maintenance guy call back, and he came by about an hour later. Couldn't fix it. Said the compressor wouldn't run. We had company, and we just all sat here playing Pictionary, drinking beer and sweating it out. At bedtime, Debbie and Neelee (niece) stayed elsewhere, and I stayed here to look after the animals and have some peace and quiet. :D

Wednesday they played around with it all day long. Couldn't fix it. Said the outside unit had to be replaced. Won't have one until noon on Thursday. Debbie called the office and said "I'm not staying here, I'm going to go get a hotel room and you're paying for it." The manager said we can't do that, but you can stay in the "model" apartment. Which is what they did. I stayed here and looked after the animals and enjoyed the piece and quiet. :D

Today they finally got the new outside unit, which is twice as big as the old one, all hooked up and running and by 1:30 we had air.

What I found puzzling was, the guy didn't vacuum the system. Just hooked up the new unit, charged it and headed to his next call. I even asked him why he didn't vacuum it, and he said "Bah, there's not enough air in there to do anything." I'm thinking "Ok, Zoomer."

It's cooling very well. Actually better than it ever has, but if you don't vacuum it first, it decreases the lifespan of the entire system. Vacuuming it removes all the air and moisture. Which, if left in the system, when the refrigerant is added, causes a chemical reaction that produces an acid that, eventually destroys the entire planet. Or maybe just that a/c system. But still. :?

I'm just glad that for the first time in 3 days, I'm not sweating. It was about 88 degrees in here, which to some, might be a nice day at the beach, but it sucks in an apartment that has no ocean breeze. ;)

What cracked me up was that on Tuesday night you enjoyed some peace, and on Wednesday night you enjoyed some piece. LOL

rick, your gonna laugh at this it is beyond absurd.a few years back the same thing happened to me except due to a comedy of errors by maintenance my ordeal was over a month.i'll begin....same thing happened where i didn't have air so i call office.well they kept trying different things but nothing worked.i told the office just like you did that they were footing my hotel bill and i told them i wasn't staying in the model.most of the time they don't agree with the hotel idea but they did this time.big big mistake on their part.they kept working on the roof putting new units in for a few weeks but still no cold air in my place.finally after about a month i was in my apartment getting some things for the hotel when the old trusty maintenance man who had been there over forty years looked at me and said your gonna be mad and i'm gonna be fired soon.i said explain.he told me that the last few weeks he kept hooking up the unit on the roof and the cold air was going to my downstairs neighbor because he kept hooking it up to the wrong place up on the roof somehow.a two day job turned into over a month because the dumbass kept checking on my place that was never getting air because he kept routing it to the neighbor.i missed front row to david lee roth because of that shit i had to go through all because of human error.i had to miss the concert which happened the day the air went out plus my dog almost died the same day.this same maintenance man reported to my manager the prior new years eve that he smelled pot in my apartment which my guests smoked not myself and got me in trouble.so i looked at this man and i told him his telling on me for the pot was about to come back to haunt him.i went and told the manager what he had just told me about his ignorant mistake.they made him step down and he got retirement but this man ruined a portion of my summer due to his bullshit.yeah they don't check or do what they are supposed to do most of the time.

Sorry, Steve, it was very disrespectful. A man that truly loves and respects his wife doesn't want other men using her as the sex joke. Rick was right on.

LOL

It's been too hot to sleep much, so please excuse the poor grammar. It's nice in this place now though. I intended on taking a nap this afternoon, but it never happened. I'm off this week, so I'll get caught up. That's not a promise that my grammar will improve though.

If you accept Steve's request and let him come over to use your shower, I'm sure some arrangement can be made with him in regards to hooking you up with some grammar lessons.
No grammer lessons, i wanted Ricks ole lady to clean my junk,if he aint cool with that, thats fine, [of course she could do it for the team}

Have you lost your fucking mind? Do not talk about my wife like that. Ever.
Loosin up Ricky

Sorry, Steve, it was very disrespectful. A man that truly loves and respects his wife doesn't want other men using her as the sex joke. Rick was right on.

I do have a lot of respect for Debbie, and that statement caught me in a bad way. With all of that said, Steve is a good dude, and I hope to split a 30 pack with him some time.
