Extended versions of the Dirty Dozen or more songs?

Do you prefer the extended guitar riffs and things that the band are importing into some of the dirty dozen or would you rather that they add two or three more songs into the setlist instead?

Which ones have they extended? I know they did on "Separate Ways" and "What I Needed", but are there others? I'd rather hear those two songs extended even if it meant them dropping some lame song (Lights, and Wheel In The Sky come to mind).

DSB, AWYWI and Open Arms. WITS was already extended I thought but they may have lengthened it even more.

I like the old version of WITS when they slowly led into it with a bluesy type Intro.

I think the extended versions are great. Especially Wheel In The Sky and the new addition to Separate Ways. Both of these songs are far better than the originals. I didn't even like Separate Ways on the CD, but it's a great concert song.

It all depends on the band and/or the song, not usually big on extended guitar riffs, but would love to see something like La Raza Del Sol in there to showcase all of them.

I think extending rockers is cool in general except for a pop song like DSB. It comes off cheesy the way they do it, to me anyway. I think trying to turn Open Arms into Who's Crying now doesn't work either. AWYWI, on the other hand is a great song to throw a bunch of extra guitar riffs into.

Absolutely. Love, love these songs extended, SW, WITS. And I would rather some other DD be dropped that I don't care for and add songs I want. DSB, drop the extended, but it's fine either way.

I agree 100%. The way this song used to stop on a dime at the end was epic. Remember the interview from 2007 when Ross said they would never mess with the arrangements on the classics? Well apparently, never is equavilent to two years in Journey's universe.

For me this is a tough call -- where's the option for both? I don't have a great way to word this, so try to follow the best you can: If it's a longer show, I would love to hear more songs (new, old, rarities), but if it's on more of a time-restriction due to venue, then go for the extended versions -- either way is a "change for the better."

I've always loved the extended version of WITS. Too bad they can't do the Sam Cooke type intro like they used to. AWYWI and Seperate ways are rockers so no problems on extending them. DSB is a classic so it shouldn't be touched. Open Arms just sucks so dump it completely. That should leave time for a few more songs. If they need another ballad, TDTWT or Send Her My Love. If they want to jam and not worry about Pineda's Vocals, play Precious Time. That song rocks and you can continuosly add to the end solo if you want.

I love the extended version of 'Separate Ways', 'Any Way You Want It' is pretty cool, too. But 'Don't Stop Believin' isn't quite as good. It's really cool and all, but they are someone over dramatizing the 'Don't Stop' part.

All in all, I give the extended versions a 9/10.
