My act has worn thin. No new material. Did you check out my video thread? I'm thinking of rounding up the Hawaii youtubes even though it was quite a ways back.

It's going to be interesting to see how the performances go. The band will have been off for two days at the time of the filming, so they should be well-rested. They've only done seven shows since taking a week-long break, which should help. This might be the time where Journey finally puts together a good TV performance. They haven't helped themselves in the past.

I was able to at least find WDILYL and WIN among the Hawaii youtubes so it won't just be the same old clips.

I'll hold off on lunch for another hour. Don't know what I want to eat yet.

I'll go with Lunchdate, thank you.
A lot of the older filipinos here at my job carry around the little pillkits. Most of their medical issues stem from all that fried food they ate all their life, along with the normal stuff like TB and heart murmers that most of them seem to have.

Now saying all that, I'm probably going to end up going to Nanay Gloria's for lunch.

Those used to be the bomb until our local Carls started putting that liquid cheese on them, instead of baking on the real shredded cheese. I demanded a refund.

How is Steve Perry doing anyway? Haven't heard from him in, man, seems like 10 years! I'm assuming he's still alive? Right? I mean, anybody that could sing like that just wouldn't dissappear like a bucket of KFC chicken in front of Rosie O'Donnel, could they?

That is funny. Remember the Bamboozle festival where people thought Hugo was Steve Perry?
For a guy that is supposedly forgotten, his name seems to be still synonymous with Journey.
That's one big shadow that "the Asian guy" just can't seem to get out from under. When reading these twats, people don't even know his name half the time.
We'll see if Journey's documentary changes that. With Bon Jovi and John Hughes projects coming out soon also, the market is going to be tight when it comes to getting press coverage.

Ask Journey how he's doing, seeing as they are the ones sending him his quarterly Royalty payment checks for Revelation.

Let's not forget Gregg Rollie, Steve Smith, Aynsley Dunbar and Diane Valory! They all get their share of royalty checks, too. But last time I checked, none of those guys are reclusives.

It was raining while they were performing, hope AP doesn't go under the weather again.

We need some rain here in SoCal. All I see is smoke out my window. Took a walk to the bank and the air was just heavy with ash.

'splain how SP get's royalty checks from Revelation, unless it's because of the use of material he cowrote on the re-records. Is that it? They can't shake Perry.

Yes. I think how it works is, you determine how many copies of an album you will press and ship (not necessarily sell, that's why you don't want to burn to many discs because if they don't sell, the songwriters money is already paid and you will be at a deficit, probably ) than you send out the payment based on that to the publishers/songwriters of the song (The publishers of a lot of Journey's songs are not name Sony by the way). When you want to include those songs in a video, you have to grease the wheel also, though you can probably negotiate the terms for that as Video performances of songs actually need permission from the writer (see Sopranos  . When it comes to music performed by the group, Perry might need permission form Neal and Jon one day for his projects, so no need to burn that bridge over something so trivial). Some artists will actually edit out certain songs when recording a DVD so they don't need to go the hassle, if there is real bad blood between members.
Hopefully the next album will detach the cord that was connected during Revelation.

If I'm wrong about any thing and copyright law has changed concerning video/audio reproduction over the last couple of years, please feel free to correct me. I can only go by what I remember from my time working with a major record company.

You know for a fact Wal-Mart probably picked up Steve Perry's royalty check. Wal-Mart wanted the re-recorded stuff. Neal and Jon probably said, 'Fine, but you guys are paying Beaky'
