OT: "Bubble Gum" music

Postby Suzanne » Sat Aug 29, 2009 5:11 am

OH DEAR. I heard this song on the radio the other day on a station I flip to sometimes if nothing else is on (Top 40) and I liked it. It was upbeat, kind of bubble gum-ish. I was bopping along with it in the car thinking, "That isn't bad". I just found out it was Miley Cyrus' "Party In The USA".  I started thinking how embarrassed my Nine Inch Nails loving 13 yr old niece would be and I suddenly feel old. Then I thought how funny it would be to get her in the car and turn that song on.

I would call Miley Bubble-gum music, but one day I heard one of her songs and I liked it...and I have no idea what it was called. When the DJ on the radio said it was Miley, I thought WOW, she did that song very good, but I doubt I will run out and buy her CD for just one song. If I find out the name of the song, I might buy it from ITunes.

They were playing The Climb on KOST and one of the DJs said to the other that he liked it and was shocked to find out Miley was singing it as he didn't think he would ever enjoy one of her songs.

there was a reason we called her dad... "Billy Ray Sorry-Ass".....

I think it's a really good song but wouldn't call this bubble gum. Miley is growing up to be a lovely young woman & she has a great voice for country music.

The song she did with her dad about letting go and her moving on is a good one too.
