Oy! Nothing wrong with Manchester... provided you are actually in Wolverhampton ;)
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I grew up with these guys, and I like em quite a bit. Pretty underrated/underappreciated because of The Beatles crap that gets tossed around. Love this song:

Their music for the most part is pretty guitar-driven, which is why I've always liked it.

Everytime "Wonderwall" plays, God kills a kitten.

Awesome news! I'm glad it's over. (with all due respect for those who like their music)

And Oasis is a rock group?? Blasphemy.

Truth be told, probably more than a "rock group" than most of the bands a lot of us worship on here, but why quibble over semantics, right?

Most of their stuff, save a few of their singles from the mid 90s, are very guitar-driven and definitely "rock."

Oasis is Britpop. Guitar driven or not they are far from the spirit of Rock. At least in my perception.;)

And this is why I think music genres, for the most part, are silly. No one can agree. To some, alternative is grunge. To me, alternative is everything from the 90s that WASN'T grunge... Gin Blossoms type stuff. And so on and so forth...

I can't respect anybody who walks out before they are due to go on stage.
It is not professional. And therefore unforgivable.
He should have performed the show and THEN walked out.

It's time these two either grew up or saw a shrink to deal with their 'issues' - or both.

Or better still, they could just piss off.

That's what they tired to tell Sarah Palin, but she wouldn't listen.

They were always total assholes, but I grew up with their music...they were pretty much "my band" during the 90's when I was in high school. Really bummed about this, regardless of the circumstances.

Big melodic guitar rock with huge, stadium-ready singalong choruses...different influences, but not really all that different in spirit than the music we otherwise discuss here, so I'm not sure why you'd rag on them.

Well said Wal. I wasn't posting on their personality differences, but rather the music they created as a band.

Tens, hell maybe even hundreds of people worldwide will mourn the passing of a group in which the late great George Harrsion had this to say.

"They didnt to anything for me". When the lead singer compared Oasis to the Beatles back in the early 90's George made that comment..

Couldn't agree more. But then they've done nothing in their entire careers to warrant 'respect' anyway. I've always considered them overrated musically, just arrogant louts who found themselves in the right place at the right time to become successful, but then abused that success again and again through their self centred attitude. If I never hear another Oasis song it'll be way too soon.

Their arrogance astounds me.
What have they got to be big headed about?
Oiks. The pair of them.

I do remember fondly a story a few years ago when they were in Italy, I think.
Liam started showing off in some bar or restaurant and was being his usual charming self.
Anyway, whoever he was annoying knocked his teeth out.

It's a shame he didn't learn from that lesson.
