I don't care what he sings as long as it's new and released by Christmas 2010!

What Do You Want to See For Steve Perry's New Release?

I just learned that Andrew confirmed SP is in the studio working on new material and it's pretty quiet around here, so I thought it might be fun to speculate on what we can expect/hope for. By the way, I've never done a poll before, so if I goofed this up, tell me how to fix it when you let me know!

Oops, I finally read through more threads and realized Ftloperry already started a thread about SP's new release - sorry Ftloperry! I was looking for polls.

So far, no discussion - I guess we are tired of talking about it and just want some action?

I'd be down for some re-records of post-TBF. To be honest I wasn't a fan of FTLOSM so I'm not too confident about the new album. :( I'd rather have him back with Neal and Jon.

LOL at option #1. He'd have to ask Neal. I can just hear it; Neal can I borrow some of the songs from Generations for my next album? No, Steve....get your own shit!

 I hope he can throw in a rerecord of 'Higher Place' as a bonus track - that's one of my favourites!

I want to believe it won't be another FTLOSM, as I wasn't a fan either. I'm hoping for a soulful, R&B type vibe, but more uplifting mixed with ballads. I don't want it to be too overwrought.

That sounds perfect! SP seems to be in a great place in life and looks happy and healthy, so hopefully his new music will reflect that.

NO WAY on the motown/R&B stuff. He's already done that enough on Street Talk and Raised on Radio. It's already covered!!

I vote for something with a blues-rock flavor. Something with awesome, crunchy riffs and a sweet groove. Hell yes.

Little bit of R&B, little bit of bluesy-rock flavor. It all sounds good to me, but of course, I'm biased. :D

True, true... a funky-blues thing would be p. cool. As long as there's still some awesome riffery and awesome vocals going on! (guess who's a guitarist...)
