Hey, look, it's a noob!

Postby ChildInTime » Sat Sep 05, 2009 2:04 am

Hey, peeps! I am new to this board, as my four posts depict... but I've been lurking for awhile-- at least, for a long enough time to know I think I'll like it here and upstairs, even though there seems to be a fair amount of drama going on here right now. I *hate* drama, so hopefully it'll all blow over soon!! So... here's an intro, I guess.

Hallo, my name to you is Kat, and I'm a pretty new Journey/Steve P. fan. I used to be one of those doofuses who only knew Don't Stop Believin' and Any Way You Want It, but after awhile... I got curious! So I picked up Infinity and Escape... and liked them a lot! So after that, I got Frontiers, Departure, RoR, etc.... and I liked 'em all! Well, except for some parts of RoR, cause it got a little too R&B and I don't really like that genre, but beyond that, it was all good! Steve Perry really does have a fuckin' awesome set of pipes, and Neal's playing was always insanely great. I also like Steve's solo work a great deal, though I must admit I like his stuff with Journey better.

Now... I gotta admit, I do think that Steve *WAS* very attractive in his youth. I think the first time I saw a pic of him I was like , ha ha. BUT!-- I am not a turbo-loon about it. You're not gonna see me drooling over him at every moment, and I am first and foremost a fan of the music! The attractiveness is just the icing on the cake! So yeah. You're not gonna see any creepy psycho-loon drama from me. Don't worry! *salutes*

Finally... I am quite psyched to be here. Hopefully all the aforementioned drama will die down and we'll all have a good, non-drama-or-weirdness-filled time here once again!

I will save you a ton of time right now - drama will die down, for brief periods, but will ALWAYS pop back up, without fail. Been here 3 years and have put in enough time to say that as 100% fact.  :o :o

But, if you're a low drama person, as am I, you'll learn to ignore it. I rarely RARELY step out of the fun zone and into the drama zone but honestly, it happens to us all.

So... welcome!! :D

p.s. - its a lot less " " upstairs.

Yeah, but not too much is going on up there either... I think that may be why it's less like that!!

Thanx for the welcome, tho'. :)

Upstairs is where all the good drama has occured, don't lie    Really though, one thing I have learned over the last couple of years no matter WHAT message board I am in, it's message board = drama. When you get people from all different walks of life from all around the world discussing anything, there will be drama. That and the fact that every message board has a crazy or two lurking around. I'm not naming any names though....

You got that right. Heck, who are we kidding, we're no strangers to drama here on the Perry forum. Looks like at this very moment we have some eye gouging and hair-pulling going on in another thread.

Oh shit! I forgot about the whole Perryville drama... :x

Worry not!! I am definitely not that lady, nor am I connected with her in any way. The whole Perryville thing weirded me out way before this whole thing happened. I'm way too young to be her anyway! Plus, I hate the name Kathy when addressed to me. Kat's fine. Kate's fine. Katie.... even that's better than kathy. Kathy just sounds like someone has a bad lisp. (No offense to any benign Kathy's out there)

And yeah, about the whole R&B thing... ah well. Everybody's different, right? I can enjoy it *sometimes*... if the mood strikes me. The problem is... the mood barely EVER strikes me!! So it's not like I hate it, it's just that I never ever feel like listening to it. ...Does that make sense? :P

Makes total sense. I was talking more about a motown/R&B groove more so than the genre. I tend to gravitate to rock that has a bluesy R&B groove behind it. Probably one reason why I like LTS live. All 3 of my fave singers are very R&B influenced and you can hear it their delivery.....even on the rockers. I'm talking more about an R&B vocal/music delivery than the actual genre. LOL if that makes any sense? If not, ask MG, she totally gets it too.
