OT-- Let's talk about MUSIC!!!!

Remember what that is??

Here is a place to post random songs you're diggin' at the moment, or songs you just wanna share with other people. You can post as many as you want per post, but make sure state the genre or type of music it is. This is a drama-free zone... just sit back, listen to some tunes, remark on them if you like them, and relax. Or rock out. Whichever is more appropriate. :P

I'll start off with some acoustic/folk-influenced songs, since that's the mood I'm in....:

Chuck Ragan- The Boat (Punk-influenced acoustic folky stuff.)

Luka Bloom- Dreams in America (Haunting, beautiful, sparse acoustic)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BT1-P6p28Wc

Andy McKee- Art of Motion (Instrumental; Fingerpicked guitar)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmE3QaGetn4

Ani DiFranco- Work Your Way Out (Acoustic)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uWwHn6CP7k

Indigo Girls- Land of Canaan (Acoustic folk-rock... great vocals)

I'm currently listening to Imogen Heap's new CD, "Ellipse" and here's one of my faves already "Canvas": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXj0dF7LAyE

I also like the fact that she writes her own stuff and plays the instruments. I've noticed I tend to gravitate to music coming from the U.K. for some reason.

oops forgot...her music genre is Electronic.

Oooh! I like Imogen Heap. :) Haven't heard that one yet, though. good stuff.

Since it's a ho-hum Sunday afternoon, I'm gonna spice it up with heavier stuff...

UFO- Lights Out (70s Hard rock)

Kyuss- Thumb (Fuzzy "desert rock"/"stoner rock". To me, though, it's just hard rock.)

Diamond Head- The Prince (Heavy metal)

Angel Witch- Angel Witch (heavy metal with fun guitar work!)

I heard this one again on the radio this morning & remembered how much I liked it when I first heard it - Kings of Leon "Sex on Fire": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHhhcKxf ... re=related

(had to look them up and see who they were...all brothers & a cousin - raised by a traveling Pentecoastal preacher named Leon.)
