That's Deano's favorite picture! He PM'd me one time to see if I had a poster of it I could sell him. I told him I only had a Journey and a Kiss poster, but "good luck with the hunt buddy!".  I'm sure Deano will be the first person in line waiting for this album to come out too. :D

Are they re-doing "17"?

"...she's only 53..."

This is a band that has been mis-labeled since the 80s. I'm sure half the people who dump on this band have never heard IV and Pull....especially Pull, which is arguably one of the greatest unknown hard rock albums ever produced.

Also, A little known fact about their second album, In The Heart Of The Young, is that "Cant't Get Enough" and "Easy Come Easy Go" were added towards the end of the album's production, because Atlantic gave Winger the 'we don't hear a single' cry....If you remove those two songs when you listen to the album, it's got a much different character. The songs are far more cohesively put together.

Regardless, this band takes ALOT of shit because of a very poorly placed label by Mike Judge far more deserved of a band like Poison or Warrant. Did the band have some cheesy songs? sure, you can possibly say that about 17....but I guarantee you that CC Deville of Poison, Joey Allen of Warrant or any other late 80s hair band guitarist couldn't *play* 17 if their life depended on it....

I agree on every level. These guys are top notch musicians and songwriters, and were victims of image abuse by their labels just like Europe. Now that these bands have total creative control, it's pretty clear what they are made of.

"Pull" is one of my top 5 rock albums of all time. Not a weak song on it. Loved the "Making Of" DVD where Kip is recording the acoustic guitar for "Spell I'm Under" and he starts goofing off with it.

Quick note: Warrant actually had much better material in them too, as their post-"Cherry Pie" albums showed. But Poison? With them, what you see is what you get. Bret Michaels is 100% cheese. TUFF is a good example of what Poison would be if you added talent and decent songwriting ability.

Actually, that Cherry Pie album is another example of the label pissing in the punch bowl. Take Cherry Pie and I saw Red off that album, and you get a much different album....far more rough, edgy and underground. Jani Lane has stated as much that Cherry Pie was a label demand for a 'single'....and that he wrote the song after being given the demand. I suspect I saw Red is similar in motivation, as once you remove those two albums, you have a much different album that was going to be called "Uncle Tom's Cabin"....

Regardless, Winger's past 2 albums are far closer to what the band really is....and it's sad that Judge, Atlantic and others took advantage of Winger in such a way.
