Has Journey ever toured with ZZ Top? If they haven't, I wonder why not?

Well, that does make sense I guess, lol. But I thought that there have been co-headliners before, no? Actually, ZZTop was opening for Aerosmith, weren't they? I guess you are going to say that Journey is not in their league? Hmmmm. No likey.

I think they need to get out of that 70s arena, 80s hair band, Time/Life recordings niche they're in and get really rocking with a band like ZZ Top. Journey knows how to rock, we all know that. I'm sure Night Ranger is a good band but I think a lot of concert goers might immediately think of ballads, big hair and cheese... Journey could rock as hard as ZZ Top, I think. Wouldn't that be an incredible show? *Sigh* dreaming again. I know what you mean but why be pigeon-holed?

ZZ Top is a HOF band (2004). Their fan base is a bit different than Journey's for sure.
They're huge in England and got just as good and even better reviews than Journey did at the Download festival this year (which I found out from going through the links instead of just the EDITED transcripts that were being posted around here).
Not too many ballads in their setlist though.

Saw them a couple years ago and found the show pretty boring. Just not into them,I guess. All 3 members look really old now plus I never have figured out that fuzzy guitar.
