first of welcome to MR. From your fifth post here , I get a feeling you've posted here before under another username.
YoungJRNY/Trav is one of the nicest guys around. So I suggest you cool it down and change your tone a bit. He may be a lot of things , but "worthless piece of shit" ain't one of them.
Uncle heFTy wrote:If only you knew how difficult this would be to emulate live. The strain on anyone's vocal chords, let alone those of Jeff, would be phenomenal.

So what I gather from this is JSS wanted to stick it up Journey's asses and basically create a Journey-esque record with him on lead vocals, which he has called the album he never got to make with Journey. People around him realize that he could never produce vocals like that night after night in concert.
So why are people insistant that a JSS-fronted Journey would have worked? He used all of his "Journey voice" to create this record in the studio, knowing fully well he could never sing like that on a tour.

The song is amazing, and as I know that most people are in love with Arnel, I could not help but to wonder what Journey would be today if they let JSS be JSS and write songs like this for a Journey album. Journey would have been transformed from a Legacy Act into something more relevant.

I agree, and he is one helluva vocalist, which is why he was the chosen man to step in and save the DL tour in '06, who had history with Neal and Deen in S.S. I've seen JSS twice during that '06 tour and thought the band sounded great and had wonderful times each time. Looking back, and as that tour went on, I felt more and more that his voice didn't fit Journey's criteria, and even though it would have worked with him at the helm, I believe it wouldn't of even came close to working out when comparing to Pineda. I think Pineda is perfect for the band today. Still, even though in the end I wasn't THAT high on JSS as lead vocalist to Journey, I would have accepted it and moved on and bought the new album and rocked out to another 7-8 shows up until this point. This has been said over 1,000 times, JSS is great, but not for Journey.

Speaking of Journey, I can't wait to hear the whole song of "Comes Down Like Rain." I can tell from the little snippet in the Trailer...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVvPtCdAfV8 ......that I'm going to love that one. It's got that soulful/emotive 'Still They Ride' grandiose-vocal type vibe that I totally dig.

Yup, that one and If I Fall both sound really good.
btw, totally unrelated, but you might want to check a guy named Johnny Adams on youtube. Very obscure New Orleans soul singer. Something tells me you'd flip over the vocals.

Good call! Just had a listen to this one of his http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEMmiPtXwLw and yep.....love that soulful R&B style of vocal. A little old-schoolish for me though, I like a little more of a modern flare to it, but it did remind me a little of this type style...... loooooove this live performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvONkB05g0w
