1981. Journey, Foreigner and George Thorogood were opening for the Rolling Stones at JFK.

2006 - Journey and Def Leppard double bill.

I think I've posted about this before, but going into this show I was a big Def Leppard fan. I came out a bigger Def Leppard fan, and a new Journey fan.

Journey didn't headline in 1981 after Escape went #1?

I don't mean against the RS, but that surprises me that they opened.

One and only Journey show I've seen LIVE was back in May '82 when they were here on their Escape tour.

No, it wasn't the best decision they ever made. They, along with Foreigner heard it from the crowd at various points. Everybody loved Thorogood though. With the Delaware Destroyers, he was like a local band, not to mention his music has that blues flavor that seems to go with the Stones' music.

Luckily, Journey played the Spectrum eight months later and I got the type of show I could really appreciate with everyone else in attendance.

I don't recall the date, but my first show was one of Augeri's 1st performances. I believe it was in Newberry, SC at the Opera House, but I could be mistaken... many years ago. I do remember that it was a very small crowd, and Steve sounded like ASS that night!  His pitch was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I was however elated just to be hearing them though, so it didn't matter! I had waited for so many years, and honestly didn't think I'd ever have a chance to see them.

I saw them 5 times with Augeri, and after that initial show, He did a great job. He was so nervous during that first concert, that it was very obvious! He definitely blossomed from there. I don't necessarily think he was the perfect choice for Journey, but he was a great guy, and for the first few years... he kicked ASS! He really did a lot to bring Journey back from oblivion.

I've also seen them 2 times with JSS, and I think twice with Arnel. I don't feel that same passion for seeing them like I did the first few times... Let's hope that they release a great album next year, and I will definitely go see them in support of the new album! :D

Summer 1979, Houston. I still remember that incredible feeling of seeing/hearing Steve Perry LIVE.

Way late here. Wasn't into concerts early on and not too many where I grew up.

April/2002 Santa Rosa. I just found out Journey was back from the BTM.

Got to see Steve Perry Live on his FTLOSM tour in January of 1994. Never got to see Journey with Perry. Saw Journey live for the first time in the summer of 2006.

I don't remember the date but I think it was 1998? It was one of the first shows with Steve Augeri at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga.
With Jeff Scott Soto 4 times.....Tampa, Clearwater, and twice in Orlando.

Been a fan of the music since 78 but unfortunately didn't get a chance to see them with Steve Perry.

I think somewhere around September of 1998 (???). It was an Augeri show at the Nissan Pavilion. They were with Foreigner, and it was a very good show, I remember the first time my hubby told me about the "Perry with a perm" statement, and how closely I thought he came to the Perry sound on some of the songs. It wasn't enough to keep my interest, though, so the next show that I saw was November, 2006 in Baltimore, after I heard that they had a new singer and discovered this place. Saw them 4 times with JSS at the helm. 8)
