I completely agree. Look at the Foreigner/Lou Gramm board or Mr. Big/Eric Martin, etc. They're grouped just as Perry should be grouped with Journey.

He was such a huge part of the band and that is the only way that it seems to work here. IMO

I don't know how can you not a have a Journey forum, it's the Journey fans that made this board famous. Even if the band is not grateful to having a board dedicated to them, you should at least thought of the fans. What would you rather have, an ungrateful band with passionate fans that rock your board (with more than 580k views) or a very grateful band/artist that has less following, with more than 50k views to date?

Plus Journey is one of the most melodic rock band getting a second life. I will bet you, that if you put a separate Journey forum it will surpass the views/hits of all the artist forums right now combined (except this one, of course), within a short period of time. There will be lots of things to talk like another surprise song, Oprah show, another album to record, the MOA DVD, the documentary of Arnel, etc.

Derailment cannot be avoided but we can always go back to topic.

While you're about making changes, Andrew......could you add a link at the top by the heading somewhere that takes you from the forums to the front page?
When you start at the front page you can hit the link to the forums but there isn't one to click on to go to the front page of the site if you start in the forums.
Both can be bookmarked of course to readily go to it but it would be more convenient if there was a link to the front page from here to easily click on instead of backtracking or having to have both earmarked. Just wondering.

I agree also - they're basically all the same.

I also like the idea of a separate watercooler forum at the top for topics not related to Journey at all, such as news items and questions . But I do think the majority would like a dedicated Journey forum combined with Steve Perry. Part of what kept the Journey forum fired up and interesting was the banter between all camps. The loonage was tuned down in the Journey forum and there was more discussion, less fawning. Even the band can't separate SP from Journey and it keeps everyone together.

Actually, some of us current fans are quite annoyed by the crowd who used to be fans but got off the train after perry left. Not because they are no longer fans but because they make it a point to bitch about the line ups that have followed and bash those who are posting about their enjoyment of the current Journey. I say don't like it, don't read it. Nobody forces anyone to read anything posted here. What I don't get is why some people insist on being such kill joys. Journey is clearly experiencing their greatest resurgence in many years and it's not gonna last forever. Some of us who didn't stop believing and enjoying Journey want to continue to do so.

If Arnel's fans are a problem, maybe he's doing something very right and some people can't deal with it. (All that is fucking sour grapes)

It's been months since Journey topics actually dominated this board (Not counting Perry threads). Let the Journey forum earn its way back up to the position immediately under this forum.
