Go laugh it up. I know, Necks, cars and going in circles, ha ha ha. Forget about the 200,000 people in attendance, and the huge viewership on the tube. Journey could use this big time. Going on Oprah sure will solidify the stay at home Mommy and reassure you all of more Open Arms in the future! Yay! How fucking exciting. Have Schon play the National Anthem as fighters roar overhead. leave Friga the fuck outta the picture, and Pineda too. Then have the band play some good driving rock, like SW, KOR, SIL, stuff of that nature.

On a further note, have Schon play the SSB in the back of a Chevy Silverado as it circles the track. That would make Sportscenter.

Foreigner is doing NASCAR. One of their better decisions. I think.

If Journey does Formula One instead, then we may get visits from both Journey and F1 fans, if Andrew switches back to Forum One :)

That doesn't surprise me, but I would have thought Don't Stop Believing and After All These Years, as those women would have eaten that up. Great anniversary song. I am sure they will be mentioning the DVD of the concert in Manila being released at the end of the year.

Oprah really is running out of gas. She was on when Journey was HUGE (read, SP in the band riding Frontiers and ROR success) and nothing.

Now when they're gasping for air she brings them on. Has to the be the pinoy poor boy angle again.

The Oprah website was bombarded with requests for this to happen. It did, so the people who spearheaded this got their wish. :D

Lori Carpenter's blog at Journey Forum:

Da Boys and Miss O..
Friday, September 18, 2009 - 11:54 pm - LC73

More security than Fort Knox...kind of ..

Staff was nice and courteous and overall, it was run very well. Tight ship indeed.

Journey's performance looked and sounded amazing!!! Just wait...!

They did announce that 44 million viewers tune in to see the show. A huge "Congratulations to Journey" on another job well done.

And to think they were flown in from VA to Chicago in between their scheduled tour on their "day off" to film. After, fly back out, resume the tour and perform that night! My total respect.

The story still makes me cry to hear Arnel talk about his life and his experiences leading up to this dream come true when he joined Journey.

I've been wondering for well over a year now when Oprah was going to call the guys to be on? Seriously. Better late than never!

One of the more successful summer concerts was Journey the last 2 years......not exactly gasping for air.

Not that I have a problem with Oprah, but this is a good idea. I do think Higher Place was used as bumper music for Nascar on Fox and NFL on CBS back in 2001-2002.

Yes they're successful again NOW but go back two (3?) years and they were in quagmire. Compare with 23, 24 years ago.

The comment above about the write in requests makes sense. My bet its the Pinoy effect that brought this about, I just don't see her as a J fan.

23 or 24 years ago there's no way in hell Journey would have gone on Oprah. Why would they? Back then she was nobody and they were the biggest band in the US.
