So, whats the verdict? Do the Journey fans get their 100% on topic forum or do they homestead here in the 100% off topic WaterCooler forum?

81 yes votes gives the appearance that a NEW Journey board below this one will be hopping right out the gate even with out the OT threads.

Unless of course, most of the yes votes are coming from people that never actually participate in the threads and merely read everything that others post.

Without the contributions of Chubby and Isla, a new Journey froum is going to be pretty much threadbare if people are waiting for others besides those two to get the ball rolling.

See, I think they won't be slammed if they're in an insulated forum devoid of OT threads and such. If the place is just about Journey (and Journey only) I think it will attract the type of people you find on the Band's regular site.

Now, when AI and things like that are discussed in this OT forum, they can come back here and get their regular beat down like everyone else.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. The poeple who used to dog on Perry didn't really continue on into the Perry forum once that split happened. With the tour over in three weeks, I don't see people running down to a new Journey forum in droves to contest whatever Chubby or Isla will have copied and pasted from some outside source.

Without reading the 8 pages before me, here are myreasons for a dedicated Journey forum:

* It might sound childish but if Steve Perry has a forum than so should Journey because:
* A) Without Journey there is a likelyhood that there would be no Steve Perry Forum.
* B) Journey was/is far more successful as a group than Steve Perry was solo.

* Journey practically defines this genre.

* Journey is still recording/touring.

* I realize that a NO O.T. board for Journey will have significantly less traffic than "we" are used to but it should/will likely have more than many of the other boards on the site including:
* Danger Danger
* Europe
* Bryan Adams
* The Canadian Board




Speaking of slow Forums, I think Bryan Adams could return to the Canadian Bands Forum (after all, that was simply done for Deano), Danger Danger (even though Ted Poley is a good friend to the board, but he spends his time on the Noticeboard) could probably fit in the Artist Open Forum (or were they an LA Band?). After Foreigner releases their new CD and the talk dies down again I could see that Forum going away...same with KISS. The Bon Jovi Forum is also very slow. Just not a lot of consistant activity in those pages. They all have little surges but nothing consistant. Hell, Van Halen is close to a dead forum as well. Sometimes I think we have way too many choices on this site and with a "catch all" Forum at the top of the page, as well as an Artist Open Forum it seems all bands are well covered. Likewise, this Catch All Forum covers the Politics, Rant, Sports, & Movies/DVDs/TV Forums. Just something to consider 'Drew.
