Another brand new SONG!!!

Postby G.I.Jim » Wed Sep 16, 2009 4:40 am

For those interested... I just posted another brand new song at www.myspace.com/jimrykbost called "No Matter How Far". It's VERY upbeat, and is our first song to start out acapella!  This is a very early version, and all of the vocal tracks are just placeholders. We'll be adding more guitars, I'm replacing some of the keyboard parts, and the whole song will be remixed.

Anyway, I hope you like it!

Thanks very much to everyone for the kind words! I really do appreciate it. I'm very anxious to get these songs from demo form into a well mixed, mastered and produced cd. I honestly don't know how long it's going to take us, but I don't want to skimp when it comes to the final production. I'll be paying for most of this myself, and I'm doing this merely as a hobby. It is a SERIOUS passion of mine, and I hope the end result will be an awesome album that many of you enjoy!

I had made it up in my mind that all we needed were a couple of up-tempo songs added recently to complete our album, but after I finished the last two... I've now decided that I may try to write another couple of fast ones to round out the album. I'm not positive yet, but I'll try to work on some new songs over the next couple of weeks. Guess we'll just have to see what the future holds! :D

I have had a couple of beers tonight, but I would really like to take this time to thank everyone here at MR! You have all been very open and supportive of our music, and many of you here have been great friends to me personally. PLUS you've put up with my jokes for a LONG time now!  I'm not getting choked up here (I promise! :D ), but it really does mean a lot to me. Many thanks, and I hope we put out an album you can enjoy! I hope you all have a great night. !

Nice Jim.

The one that really grabs me out of all of them so far is "Its All Over Now" - that chorus is really something.

And it has the least number of plays.

Thank you very much to everyone! Duncan... This week I'll have the full version back from Alex.... :D Thanks Susie. You can't go off of the number of plays, because I switch those songs out all the time! If we have one version of a song and we record a better version... the old version goes out the window! I'm posting a new version of "Melinda" later tonight that blows the older version out of the WATER!!! Wait until you HEAR the difference. :D I can't wait to showcase it, because I really think it's our best song so far.

I also have some big news in our line-up, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get the go-ahead with the announcement. If it works out... these songs are going to be taken to a much higher level than I thought we'd get to on this first album. He's not somebody that most of you would have heard of, but he is a WORLD class musician. :D I'll update you ASAP, but look for it tomorrow. Thanks again!

Thanks Larry ( I think!  ). I do post a LOT of info on here. Maybe it's due to the fact that I'm not a full-time musician wanting to keep things under wrap until an album is finished? I have had a LOT of feedback from here at MR over the last couple of years. Some good... some pretty nasty! I have thick skin, and I have actually taken advice from here before and incorporated it into the song. When you guys speak... I listen! I want this album to kick ASS when it's finished!!!

So back to YOU Larry... where the HELL have you been?  It is great to see your name pop up on here!

Thanks Larry! You are crazy as hell man!!!  I'm sure musicians know about the internet... they just don't promote an album before it's finish. I understand that maybe they think it'll tarnish peoples "views" of the band if someone hears something that isn't finished... that's THEM! I personally feel that it's cool (for ME anyways) to bring everyone along through the creation process of the songs. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I just think it's cool to be able to do that. :D I have got some good advice on my songs by posting them here also. :D

So which songs of mine have you heard in full? I assume you're just talking about the demos on myspace?

Anyway, thanks very much for the kind words Larry. As I've said before... if you want me to work on any songs for you... just let me know!
