Scott Weiland Has Seizure on an Airplane
Posted Sep 18th 2009 6:40PM by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland experienced a seizure during an American Airlines flight just hours ago.

Sources close to Scott tell us he suffered the seizure while flying from Los Angeles to Miami. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

We're told Scott has a history of seizures -- he was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. Despite the seizure, we're told Scott plans on attending the launch of his clothing line "Weiland for English Laundry" on Saturday.

correct.its also why i quit them ten years ago.probably has a lot to do with why my anxiety issues flare up from time to time.i was burning the candle at both ends for years and then i woke up one morning and started having a seizure.that went on all that day.luckily i made it and bounced back and to this day i have developed a strong anti drug stance.i was doing cocaine, drinking, smoking five packs of cigs a day, never sleeping.that day of seizures was my wake up call.i hate to think of some bright kid out there fucking his life up with that shit but thats what i did for a lot of years.

And this is only the most recent evidence from him. He's been a poster child for why you shouldn't do drugs for at least a decade or so.

I think I recall that he once boasted that he enjoyed getting groupies hooked on heroine.

Always loved STP music but never liked him after that statement.

I hated the entire movement. bands like this, nirvana, aic, pearl jam, soundgarden, had zero positive to offer. zero....
and frankly, the above statement falls directly inline with the feelings I derived from listening to the music.

Weiland's a piece of shit...and so's the rest of the grunge/seattle scumbuckets. Fuck em all.....he's going to die of a heroin OD someday....and God's going to be there to waterboard the fucker for his actions....

This cocksucker is going to get the same hero worship that Cobain did when he checks out. STP has a huge following.

I don't think it's gonna be quite the same as Cobain - he went out when he and grunge were on top of the world and he had that whole tortured artist effect down pat. Weiland's more of just a junkie as far as I can tell.

Oh fuck, holy shit.....bad memories....

The fact that Eddie was a drunken mess during this....Roth threw a hissy fit and wouldn't be a part of it because of some petty issue....and that Velvet Revolver was the best that the Hall could come up with to pay tribute to VH......fucking sickening. That band did NOT deserve to be there for VH. Slash isn't fit to whipe the sweat off of Eddie's balls....and Wieland isn't fit to stand within 100 feet of Roth and a 1000 feet of Sammy.

Fuck....

I really wish VH checked out on better terms....that Hall of Fame presentation was painful to watch.

Nirvana was horrible and Cobain was a chodemongler. Weiland IS a piece of shit too. BUT, that doesn't make STP a horrible band. They were fairly good.

Alice in Chains was above average.

Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, one must admit though, are VERY good bands musically AND lyrically.. I don't see how anyone can downgrade those two groups, at the very least. Besides, neither of them have had bad junkies or morons like the others.

Above average? What average be that? Sorry, the only average they are above, is the average watery shit...

Bullshit. They're both part of a shitty network of bands that came out of a depressed city during a depressed him. There shittiest hair band guitarist could play circles around that trans-sexual Kim Thayell....and if you took the 9 pounds of marbles out of Vedder's mouth, you might actually understand his lyrics...if he weren't high on smack.

Fuck the whole fucking lot of them. There was nothing redeeming out of seattle during the time. nothing...

Sorry Frank, don't agree with ya here. But prog and I grew up with this shit, it colors it differently. I really like STP, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and PJ from that era. Plus I just have so many memories associated with it... taping songs off the radio on my boom box while sittin around with my friends playin Sega Genesis, beatin the shit out of each other with Again by AIC blasting in the BG, MTV Unplugged w/ AiC playing late at night, the music videos etc.

Are they my favorite bands now? Not by a mile. But most of them had considerable talent, aside from Kurt Cobain (Dave Grohl had/has tons of talent though).

Plus, I mean... if we're gonna hate on bands that indulge in substances... well, I think our lists of favorite bands would dwindle considerably

It's not the substances that was the issue for me. It was the 'hate your father, I'm a loser" crapola message that came out of seattle. Every band mentioned above propelled the message...and I thought it was not only contrived but fucking awful.

There's a list of hair metal bands/players out there....that defected to grunge...and turned into grunge bands. It's pretty sad. At least one member of each band out there was an aqua-net junkie....who couldn't make it when players like Vito Bratta could destroy them...

It's really that simple. Grunge/Seattle was a 'let the retarded kid play ball too' moment in music...

It's supported by the fact that the vast majority of these bands are either dead, broken up or puttering along with less popularity than they had prior to kurt cobain's shotgun momment.....Yet acts from the 80s have been resurging for the past 10-15 years.

It's actually the sweetest revenge...watching the seattle scene turn into a bad memory, and nothing more....

All fair enough critiques, except Jerry Cantrell, Stone Gossard and DiLeo (sp?) from STP are both excellent guitar players that can do a lot - I haven't heard Thayil outside of SG, but he had some good shit in there. Not technically mind blowing by any mind, but still.
