Well, one thing is for sure, they really protected Arnel's voice this year with what they did with down-tuning a half-step and the spacing of the tour. Here we are at the end of the tour, and the videos from Atlanta a few days ago show his voice sounding clear and strong.
Its just a matter of time,if Azoff {assaff} dangles the right amount of my to tour up with a good band they wouldnt turn it down
Hey Steve- weren't u the guy saying Arnel wouldn't last 6 months? He's done that in spades and kicked ass.
All the talk about Perry coming back, jeez, talk about "Don't Stop Believing". Give it up people...
It's pretty freakin' clear that Arnel is the singer of choice for Neal at this point. He's done nothing but stand by the guy, and rightfully so.
Someone posted "Now that Neal knows Perry can sing" or something.... um, based on what??? Rumors, press releases, and people that are working for Perry. Like they're going to say "well, he's still burnt". Perry can sing, but at the range he did before 94? Time will tell, but I would be amazed if that were true (and more than happy).
Journey has toured the world the past two years. They've had killer reviews pretty much everywhere they went and they've done it all without Perry's ego getting in the way. Do you really think Neal gives a rat's ass about Perry these days? Especially when they can just sing the songs that Perry helped write into infinity and still make dough off it?
Arnel costs less. Is a great singer and has more shelf life vocal-wise than Perry at their respective ages. He's doing a decent job for the band. The other thing is that the record buying public has moved on from Journey. They are strictly a touring act these days. Doesn't mean tribute act, means touring act. If Perry came back, he would NOT want to tour. If they were smart, they'd do ONE SHOW with Perry- print a buttload of DVDs and all walk off into the sunset.
Personally, I want to hear what Journey and ARNEL do next. I also want solo Perry if it's NEW. If it's old stuff he's re-releasing, then I ain't intersted.
If it's new, great- everybody wins. Why have one choice for good music when you could have two?
